We were a party of 20 ,meeting for a family reunion. The rooms were spacious, loads of hot water, rooms really warm, staff exceptional nothing too much trouble for them. We had other relatives that just came to meet us from the area and they were made very welcome. Although a lot of these other relatives had not booked a... more

When we arrived I just wanted to turn around and walk away! The car park was neglected and the building looked run down. Piles of boxes and rubbish in the front windows did nothing to inspire a great deal of hope for the state of the inside. Upon entering initial reactions tended to be confirmed, with the interior of the... more

This hotel alleges that it is 3 star, however, there was little evidence of that standard. My room was small with a tiny bathroom, and a shower with only very avarage prssure. As previous reviewers have stated the walls are thin; I could hear the bathroom fan from both neighbouring rooms to mine, and even the guy in the next... more

I realised immediately that something was wrong when we turned up on a bank holiday weekend in the middle of beautiful Somerset, and this place was empty. I soon found out why! Extremely dated decor (scary 1970's carpet everywhere!), tiny bedrooms with paper thin walls (I actually had a full blown conversation with my friend in the next room through... more

Wished we had read reviews before booking. No real obvious change change since others had reviewed here back in September 2006. Still under renovation. No staff there overnight - found out ourselves the following morning. Decided not to eat at Crossways in the evening as only group booked in large regimented room. No atmosphere. Staff friendly but not efficient. Tried... more

This hotel is massively overpriced at £70 B&B for a double room as the rooms and standard of service are lower than you'd get at a Travellodge. You could argue that breakfast is included, which must be worth something. It was - about £1.20 by my reckoning. It was fine if you like food from Lidl (300 sausages for £2... more

I chose Crossways mainly because it looked like the best of a limited choice available in the area at short notice. On arrival, first impressions were not good... my wife wanted to just turn around and leave straight away. The car park needs resurfacing, the outside of the building is shabby, and there were unpleasant smells in the air emanating... more

Excellent service, Tanya and the staff are very friendly, accomodating, and sociable. Food (especially breakfast) was fantastic - all freshly cooked local produce. Excellent restaurant service, comfortable and relaxing surroundings. Room very comfortable and spacious. Showers and bathroom very clean and plenty of hot water, excellent towels etc. Would suggest this hotel to anyone who wanted to stay in the... more

Overall Location in a small, quiet village is nice. The hotel is basic but the staff is very friendly. A bit overpriced at £70 per night. Bedroom We had a bedroom at the front of the hotel. It was pleasantly quiet and overlooked a nice orchard. The walls were plain magnolia, with no pictures. The bedroom contained a firm and... more
