I stayed for one night whilst on business in the Burton/Lichfield area. The owner checked me in and offered a free drink at the bar, which was a nice touch. I stayed on in the bar to have a few more drinks and some food. The food and the service was excellent as was breakfast the following morning. My room... more

Currently staying at the Cathedral Lodge. wasnt expecting it to be as great after reading some reviews here but it is really good! Staff are all reall friendly even at 2am! I'm in a basic room and it's really good compared to travel lodge, holiday inn etc. Shower is good, really big tv with sky sports in which is good... more

No sleep at all!! Paid extra for an 'executive room' which was nicely appointed although the mattress was nearly worn out. Trouble is these rooms are directly over the bar. We thought we would be alright as we ourselves didn't turn in until 1.00am and the bar would have stopped serving. Bad mistake! No soundproofing. At 4.15 am going mad... more

While this is no deluxe establishment, we found it clean and comfortable, the staff were effective and courteous and it's good value. There was an odd cracked title in the middle of the bathroom floor and odd places where for more attention to detail would be welcome - stained materials in the welcome pack for example. I was rather put... more

Used to attend a meeting. Under new management. New management up-grading. Has a few quirks but was very satisfactory over-all. Very friendly. Owner/Manager gave me a lift in his own car to the out-from-centre train station. In thanks for this and for pleasant stay, I am belatedly giving this favorable review! more

I was very impressed with this hotel. The room was very clean and nicely decorated, nice bathroom too with a proper bath and a powerful Mira shower. I'm not used to travelling on my own so it was reassuring to have such very friendly staff, both at reception and in the restaurant for breakfast. It has a good central location... more

We chose the Cathedral Lodge for it's proximity to town, which is very good. Our room was recently re-decorated and clean, but very basic, and not the sort of room that you would want to spend any relaxation time in, other than sleeping. There were no bedside lights and a tiny radiator that just took the chill off the room.... more

A group of RBL members and friends from Northern Ireland visited the TA100 Armed Forces Memorial Parade on Saturday 13th Sept.2008. I was responsible for booking the accomodation etc and from the first time I contacted the "Cathedral Lodge" by telephone I spoke to very courteous and helpful staff. We were not disappointed when we arrived. We found Billy and... more
