Stayed for 1 night in a lovely room with beams and a sloping floor - such a treat! The bed was very comfortable (and level!) and the ensuite was large and clean. We booked the whole place for a wedding party and it was perfect! The staff went out of their way to make sure everyone was happy, the bar and restaurant are very good, great food. This hotel has so much character. There are oak beams, sloping walls, sloping floors etc etc. Unfortunately the bed in our room sloped as well – which made for an interesting night. An excellent break, the service was top class and the food was exceptional, recommend to anyone wishing to retreat from the rat race, a quiet, most enjoyable and relaxing evening. more

Didn't actually stay here but did eat here and the service was strange. Ate here as it was recommended, however I didn't enjoy the experience enough to want to go back. I wouldn't say it was bad food, just wierdly dull with a limited choice (especially of veg). It would have been better to be given a choice of spuds... more
