Having booked on spec via the hotel's website, I was relieved and delighted to find The Bull as charming as it had seemed--and welcoming to our dog, too. The rooms were spacious (my family took three standard doubles), comfortable and well-equipped, although only two of the three had music-playing equipment. Staff were friendly and professional, and the food was good... more

11 of us had a family get-together over the weekend. The hotel was excellent and the staff couldn't do enough for us. Special thanks to Sue (Reception) and Maureen (Restaurant) for their help in making our weekend extra special - the weather helped too! We all enjoyed it so much, the family want to repeat it next year. Many thanks. more

Staff very disorganised and unprofessional. Bathroom had not been cleaned properly, with only one towel and pillow in a double room. Bar area understaffed and generally poor service throughout. Would not recommend this pub / hotel more

My fiance and I went to see the Bull to enquire about booking some rooms for guests at our wedding next year. General impression of the hotel was poor - it lacked any sort of welcoming feeling and this was exacerbated by having to wait an eternity for someone (anyone!) to acknowledge and serve us. After the wait a woman... more

Myself and my partner stayed at this hotel midweek and found it to be a very charming property indeed. After booking the hotel i read the previous reviews, after staying at the hotel i cannot understand why people had written such doubt inducing information. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with a friendly smile from the receptionist. and... more

My wife and I stayed for just one night but it was a massive disappointment. When we arrived the room hadn't been made up, smelt of cigarette smoke and the decor was like a student bedsit. The rooms are located in a 1970's style annexe rather than the tradional tudor style building you see in the photo's. The service was... more

My parents stayed here on a Friday night, the same night as a wedding. Not a good idea. The music was very loud and it continued until well after 12. another hotel that only caters for weddings and parties and neglects individual travellers. Avoid at weekends. more

The Bull is a building of charm and quality as well as being welcoming. I found my visit here to be relaxing as the staff were wonderful. Nothing was too much trouble and everything seems to run so smoothly. The food is above average and i would deffinatly reccommend it as a function destination whether it be a wedding or... more
