We visited Garden Lodge B&B (which is about 3 or 4 miles outside of Newmarket) for one night as we were going to Newmarket Nights. Location is lovely and peaceful and good for getting out of the races as not many cars go off in this direction (it's about £10 in a taxi). There are three rooms sharing a log cabin in a beautiful garden. Rooms are a good size, with your own shower room. Tea and coffee making facilities, TV, fridge, ironing board and iron, etc. Very comprehensive information on the surroundings, recommendations for somewhere to eat etc. All good. What's not so good is that the walls are quite thin, so you can hear what people are saying in the other rooms. And what TV channel they're listening to. And when they're showering. You get the idea. Lovely hosts who were there to meet us as we drove up. Very nice breakfast (served in their dining room) and a swift checkout. I would recommend to a friend for one or two nights but any more than that, then I think the lack of... more
