A convenience location with pleasant rooms. The Travelodge is not straight forward to find but has ample free parking on the ground floor. Staff are helpful as are the lifts. It looks relatively new or recently redecorated but can be something of a maze once inside. It is a short 15 minute walk to the centre of Guildford passing the... more

If you want a top class hotel, with leisure club, room service and all those little extras go elsewhere but expect to pay many times the £15 I paid for this hotel. It is not as listed below by other reviewers. It is clean and the tvs do work. Yes there is no shower gel but I have raised this... more

stayed here for the second december in a row. paid £15 on travelodge website. excellent value. cannot understand any of the previous contributors problems. if you want a gourmet meal you don't eat at mcdonalds!! yes there is a busy road outside, thats why they're in convenient places ,and yes there is a railway outside one side of the hotel... more

Stayed here last weekend... Must concur with our friend from Vancouver below on all his points made. This is one of the worst places ever. From check-in to departure it was poor. Noisy, spring sticking through beds, nothing nearby, door slamming and a bizarre approach to guest relations (ie. fill in a card when you leave). Staff were young, inexperienced... more

I did not experience any major problems here. I paid £26 for my room and knew what to expect from a Travelodge. Basic, budget accomodation. The room was clean. I asked for one away from the road so it was quiet and i did not experience any noisy guests or banging doors. I did experience problems with the tv picture... more

Let's face it, most hotels in Guildford suck; there just isn't a decent selection. But when I had to make another business trip to Guildford and all the other hotels were full, I thought I should try out the Travelodge. It's only 1 year old, and looked just fine from the website. But oh my God, what an awful place... more

Stayed here for 1 night. Directions to hotel provided by Travelodge were very poor. Kept awake by slamming door to reception and the traffic outside. Only one very grubby and worn bath towel provided. Breakfast also poor. Tasteless food. Appreciate that this is a budget hotel although £60 plus breakfast puts in on a par with a good b&b. Reception... more

What an awful place this was! The doors are of the heavy slam-door variety and every morning (stayed for 4 days), the cleaners would go through each room, regardless of whether it had been inhabited or not, quickly checking and banging the door behind them. As each floor had about 25 rooms? this meant one banging door after another at... more

o.k. it's a budget hotel but to my shock, when I was about to use a towel provided in the room, it had dark stains that did not resemble chocolate but excrement. Do they not have proper laundry facilities or just check the quality of their towels prior to handing it out to guests? more

I stayed here on a £10 website deal - amazing value. The room was clean, tidy and comfortable - perfect for an overnight stop. It can get a bit noisy at night as the rooms all have big fire doors that seem to slam shut. It is also on a busy road - so can be noisy if you keep... more
