Stayed here for my parents' 40th wedding anniversary. The area is lovely for walking and we often have a drink here. However, staying here was a pretty depressing experience. Hurtwood Inn was our last stop on a very busy trip from Scotland to England. We had travelled thousands of miles serching for the perfect Inn with great food and the Hurtwood Inn was by far the BEST! Booked through Laterooms at £69 b & b, the hotel is ok if you want to be in a rural location with just a church and small village shop for miles. Beautiful idyllic location, a long,long way from the nearest main road, it's in the tiny village of Peaslake, surrounded by woodland and meadows. This is fantastic if (like me & the girlfriend) you love nature and the countryside - several footpaths start right outside the hotel. It wouldn't be suitable if you wanted somewhere close to the motorway/ train station.... more
