Beautiful idyllic location, a long,long way from the nearest main road, it's in the tiny village of Peaslake, surrounded by woodland and meadows. This is fantastic if (like me & the girlfriend) you love nature and the countryside - several footpaths start right outside the hotel. This ought to be such a charming hotel. It's rather "dotty", in a pleasant way and the people are friendly, though perhaps too many foreign staff to permit real local colour. This is at best a three star hotel charging way to much for what it actually is. The food and rooms are ok but I found the owner rude and impolite - there was never a smile or a hello from any of the staff . And I never felt welcomed - it was almost like it was a chore... more
