We arrived for dinner, having been told not to bother to prebook it, there was no table available. We had to wait, really irritating. As you watch people and want them to hurry their food! The room we were shown to had an overpowering smell of damp and I remarked to the receptionist and she just denied it. The windows had condensation on them and we weren't inclined to open them because of the overwhelming noise of the road, (the hotel is directly opposite a BR station with all the comings and goings)
We had a brief but very nasty breakfast, a cold collation, why oh why do hotels serve croissants cold???
Would never go here again, just a horrible miserable experience. The only upside I can say is that the sheets were clean.

I stayed at the Inn On The Hill when visiting Haslemere for a friend's wedding. It's a decent B&B, above a recently-refurbished pub.

The room was a bit small, but clean and nicely decorated. The bathroom was also small, but had new fittings and a powerful shower. My only real complaint was that our room was above the kitchen and there was a strong smell of cooked meat coming through the ventilation system.

Breakfast was included in the GBP80 room rate, and was good, with a wide choice and good quality bacon and sausages.

Overall, this is a reasonable pub B&B, priced fairly and offering good service.
