Needed somewhere cheap and central to stay! Booked to stay at the brandling, not a bad location about £5 in a taxi from the centre! The guest house is ran by an old couple but when we needed them they were no where to be seen! Rang hotel phone but that gets left unattended! We were given the loft room... More

Unfortunately we found this place on the internet while planning a three week stay in England. (every other place booked was just great) It took us approx. half an hour just to find the house number and appropriate street parking. The front garden was totally overgrown, the paint on the front door was fading, keys for the front door and... More

This small B & B in a victorian house was cosy and friendly and within 10 mins walk of the town centre, metro and quayside. Ok, so maybe it could do with a bit of a makeover but it was clean, tidy, friendly and breakfast was lovely. For what we paid it was ideal. Lovely restaurants within walking distance and... More

Quiet and cosy b&b. Have stayed here a couple of times and will always come back to it. 10 minutes from City Centre by Metro or 20 minute walk. If you're after something that's reasonable to stay - I cannot recomemnd this hotel highly enough!

Would not reccomend this place to anyone. We were in an attic room up 3 flights of stairs. Room shabby as was en-suite nowhere to even set down toilet bag. Towels were the hardest we have ever come across cups stained and poor reception on an old fashioned tv. Breakfast ok garden unkempt and overgrown .Too expensive for what it... More

This was my first visit to Newcastle, and I was looking for a quiet and affordable place within walking distance from the city centre. Brandling guest house fitted the bill perfectly, and I had a very pleasant three night stay there. The hosts, John and Pauline, are very friendly and attentive, and they really make you feel at home. My... More

Stayed for a few nights for a University conference last spring. Was recommended by the university and was a cheap and pleasant stay. The owner is an attentive and helpful host and the location is very convenient for the University and shopping district. The rooms are inconsistent in size since I had a small single room and my colleague had... More

"Make yourself at home" - Is the first thing one says to ones guests.. The name of this place is Brandling Guest House, and that is exactly how they make you feel, at home. The owners are super nice people who give you a key to your room and the front door simply allowing you to come and go as... More

We arrived finally even the taxi driver couldn't find it, the garden was overgrown wished we had taken a machete so we could get to the front door, no signs to say B&B. Handed the key and left to find room ourselves which ended up 3 flight of stairs. On entering the room was shocked at the decor and the... More
