Whilst the location id excellent - easily found and rapid access to City Centre, This hotel which I understand used to be 4*, is a great let down for what Travelodge used to be. Our bedroom was like a monk's cell in its decor and general appearance, the bathroom door wouldn't close and the extractor fan was broken. Only one... more

Stayed for 4 nights using it mainly as a base to explore the North East. Only ate the Bar's Pizza on one night but it served it's purpose as a late snack. local buses to Newcastle and beyond, massive shopping park and cinema across the road if you want to go shopping for white goods and divan beds. McDonald's, M&S,... more

Good security. Passageway doors are opened by the room key. Excellent leisure facilities even although residents pay £5. Adequate car parking. Large bedroom. Cleanliness was satisfactory. A tasty breakfast was let down by cold plates on which to put hot food. The toaster had variable controls and, as a result, a lot of bread was wasted by people receiving burnt... more

Our room was large, clean and quiet - no rowdiness like others have reported. Breakfast was good, though if it had been busier the few staff would have struggled. Nice bar and reception area. Bar food a little mediocre, but cheap. Drinks on the expensive side. Bus stop on road right outside takes you into Newcastle in about 20 mins.... more

At £35 including breakfast for 3 people staying for one night i found this hotel extremely value for money. I believe this is a recently converted hotel changing from a Menzies hotel to a Travelodge some time this year. I have stayed in many travelodges in the UK and apart from being fairly basic, this hotel did not resemble a... more

All what you would expect from a Travelodge but a great bar too. Staff were pleasant enough but across the board probably needed a bit more training...breakfast disorganised and only worked because there were so few of us there! I do want to thank Tony, the Assistant Manager, for helping in our joke with our friends by putting up in... more

Had previously stayed in hotel back in Dec 08 yet our stay in Mar 09 was the total opposite to the good experience. Unlike before where the staff were attentive and the facilities within the room were good on this occasion the the staff were useless with little back bone to deal with issues arising. The bedroom was of poor... more

Beer glasses left on top of cars and all across the car park on arrival, a start of things to come... Riot police called at 2:30 in the morning due to 'Yobs' running down corridors and still at 4:30 idiots where running about kicking doors to room shouting abuse. Beer glasses left on top of cars and all across the... more

Quick note to say that this hotel was well above average for a Travelodge. Good lobby and bar area where you can get basic food, breakfest was good and excellent value. Rooms big and decent. Staff sempt pretty polite and everywhere clean. Good location and well worth 19 special we got it on! more
