Spent 3 nights and found rooms newly re-decorated, very friendly staff and excellent food. Their was no problem with noise possibly because we had a room at the end of a very very long corridor. The bar food portions were large and really to much to satisfy the average persons appetite. There is a nice farm shop/cafe approx 1 mile... more

Upside. Hotel room clean and tidy, staff friendly enough, breakfast (buffet style) reasonable choice and well-prepared. Downside Noisey, we were on the ground floor, and the continuous droning noise, from what i don't know, keep walking me up. It sounded like large generator or something. more

Our last stay here was not the best. Firstly we had booked a family room but were allocated a double room with no space for a bed-settee. We were finally found a room with one available for us. The room appeared very cold when we entered and the housekeeping staff cam and checked the heating only to tell us it... more

Stayed here on a business trip because I had to. Horrible choice. Very unfriendly staff, especially at reception, noisy room vents, food was bad even for England, room was dirty, and quite far to city centre or any sort of restaurants or entertainment. The only eating place in walking distance is the Burger King at a highway stop! Worse of... more

We have just spent five nights at this hotel. It is definately not up to the usual Holiday Inn standards. Their was an air of shabbiness/dirtiness about the whole place. The chairs in the dining room were grubby, the carpet in the reception/bar area was sealed with tape, the breakfast bowls not washed properly, the wine at the bar was... more

Comfortable, clean, nice en-suite, plenty of towels, room was warm, well furnished, and pleasant. The property has a restaurant which served a good evening meal - a carvery which I thought rather unusual - and a superb breakfast. Public areas of the hotel were well maintained and comfortable, and car parking plentiful. It's a long way out of town so... more

I stayed here on a business trip and found that my room was in need of refurbishment - especially the bathroom which had stained grouting between the tiles, peeling paintwork and broken sealant. One one of the bedroom lamps was broken and there was a useful desk but nowhere to plug in a laptop. I ate in the restaurant and... more

We stayed in July and checked-in on a Sunday. It was a one night DBB (Dinner Bed Breakfast) deal booked thru www.booking.com at £79. Upon arrival, the check-in staff told us there was no booking but they had a room. She was all alone at check-in and tried to be as cheerful as could be, having handled 2 tour groups... more

I stayed at this hotel earlier this week for work purposes. It was fine - the rooms have recently been redecorated and mine was very large and comfortable, although the bathroom was a bit dated. I ate in the bar in the evening, food was fine and I didnt feel uncomfortable at all being a female dining alone - the... more
