Having read the reviews I was a little concerned about this hotel, however, I was pleasantly surprised, the rooms were clan and spacious. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Its location is great for getting into the city and is a great hotel for groups epically stag and hen parties. I could see why it would not be great... more

Just got back from 2 nights at The George. I was part of a Stag Party of 32 lads. Having read previous reviews I wasn't holding up too much hope for this hotel. However, for what we needed it was great. The check in was easy and the rooms OK, although don't expect too much, but it seemed clean enough... more

After a couple of phone calls to hotels on Osborne Rd., where we wanted to stay, as we were visiting friends living in this area (and the bars are great, too), we decided to book two rooms at the George, since it was the cheapest of the whole bunch there. At first a bit worried when we first arrived, as... more

Very friendly and forthcoming staff. We had to leave very early in the morning (6:00 am) and the hotel arranged for us to have breakfast free of charge. The rooms very nice and clean (recently redone) and the big LCD TV was a big hit. Definitely will come back again for our next job in Newcastle. The secured car park... more

The place was basic, but free car park in garage and WiFi. Easy and quick access to the centre making life really easy. The Czech/German guy doing the night shifts is brilliant!!! Very helpful and entertaining! Unfornately, the day shift guy is grumpy and smokes in the reception area. more

Awful hotel, feet stuck to the floor in places, the tiniest tv in history which had no buttons so we ended up using a spoon to turn it on, tepid water at times, also we presume it was a stag party who arrived back in the early hours who went around banging on all the doors waking everyone up and... more

Being the organiser of a stag do is hard work enough, without plenty of the group getting bitten by bed bugs. I saw the horror stories before we went, and thought the bugs would have been cleared up. Alas no. A shocking, shocking hotel. Do not stay here. more

Having stayed in lots of hotels when working away from home this has to be the worse one I have ever had the misfortune of spending a weekend in. Travelled to Newcastle as part of a hen party and firstly had booked five double rooms and were given two triples and a two twins! Hotel was dirty, old fashioned and... more

Dont waste your money on this hotel. It was not worth it. Below standard facilities. Shabby, dated, bordering on dirty. Would never recommend anyone to stay here. Sorry! more
