Booking the hotel in the first place was hardwork!! When I called, the guy I spoke to did not have the diary on him so he could not assist me with the booking. He actually said to me 'I have other things to attend to which I cannot avoid'. I asked if he could take my details which he did... more

Advertised as an Edwardian Hotel, well the last time our room was decorated, Edward must have been on the throne. Room felt seedy, joke of an en-suite and no hot water. Wouldn't have expected a room like this at half the price. Next morning breakfast was a farce, mess everywhere, smoke billowing from the kitchen, kept waiting for table to... more

If you book a room at the Rosebery stipulate that room 18 is not on your list of desirable accomodation. On entering the building, a general musty air prevails.......old and tired springs to mind. There are no directions to room 18, you find it eventually behind reception, sandwiched between the dining room and kitchen. Alarm bells should have been ringing... more

The location was convenient for access to Jesmond Dene and several attractive little restaurants in the neighbourhood, but on-street parking space was difficult or near impossible to find. There is a general air of seediness about the place which was borne out in the lacklustre service and haphazard cleanliness both in the bedroom and the dining room. Wild horses would... more

If you are looking for a quality accomodation that offers the basic things that you might expect, like a warm welcome, a good breakfast and a room that is clean and presentable, then dont come here! The presentation of the hotels website is deceptive to say the least. If you don't mind having a load of navies joining you for... more

First of all, I loved Newcastle, and if you're planning a trip there, you are doing something right. This hotel was a last resort. We weren't supposed to end up in Newcastle for the night, but the car we rented broke down (Capitol Hire--UK). All the hostels were booked, and we were looking at staying at a nearby Travel Lodge... more

We booked three nights here for our daughter's graduation as it is in Jesmond, close to where she was living. We were given Room 20 on the ground floor. I arrived alone as my husband was delayed until the next day - although I explained this to the lady in charge (who is not the owner) I was still charged... more

All in all, we had a lovely weekend here recently! A very good price for a comfortable night and a breakfast. Stayed here for 2 nights and would definitely go back! The staff were very helpful from the start: allowed us to check in before the official check-in time by providing us with a key and accomodated me and my... more

Unfortunately I cannot comment on the accomodation because having booked 2 rooms via the phone to stay over for a family wedding (months in advance) I have not been able to stay. The original phone call didn't inspire confidence - there was a power cut whilst I was booking the rooms. So I rang back the following evening to confirm... more

Stayed with some friends over Easter. What a great little place; massive room overlooking a park..well within easy reach of the city centre. Staff were so friendly and helpful, its not a 5 star, but just what we were after.. The breakfast were yummy and we were even offered seconds!!! Great little Italian cafe around the corner, where we had... more
