Just returned after spending 2 nights at this Travel Lodge - a Sunday and a Monday night. My main gripe with this hotel is security. The first night at 01.30 I was rudely awakened by a man hammering on the door of a room next to us demanding to be let in. This continued for an hour until he was... more

The location is excellent for this travel lodge 5 minutes walk from the quayside and 10 from the shops. A tesco express round the corner and a great pub just on the quayfront, The Slug & Lettuce great food. We arrived early afternoon and paid the extra £10 for early checkin to one room. (we had booked a twin &... more

Arrived at the hotel for a one night stop mid afternoon on Sunday. The place resembled a bomb site with the corridors stacked high empty glass and bottles of alcohol . Thank god we missed the Friday and Saturday nights. Even though the revellers had mostly gone home after the binge drinking on Newcastle quayside it was still noisey and... more

I stayed at this Travelodge on a Thursday night (21st February). It was easy to find (with my Sat-Nav!) and the Car-Park was underneath the Travelodge itself. Parking is £5 for overnight, which lasts until midday the following day :-) Check-in was quick and easy, and my room was on the top floor. Had an evening meal there in the... more

We arrived at this hotel at around 11pm on a Friday night. The reception is next to the large bar area and looked tidy and well-maintained. On the way to our room, however, it was clear that the corridors, etc could do with repairing - with holes in the carpet and signs missing from walls. Our room, a family room,... more

My family use this hotel whenever we visit my daughter who as at University in Newcastle. It is often possible to get a room for £26 per night for all three of us, out of season and at that price you can't expect much. The location is great, just one block up from the river and with lots of good... more

Having just returned from a three night stay at the Travelodge Newcastle I would heartily recommend it to anyone looking for budget accomodation near the city centre. Having secured the room for £29 per night my husband and I opted for the buffet breakfast and were pleasantly surprised-very good value indeed. Admittedly we stayed during the week when it was... more

2nd stay at this travelodge. Stayed on a sunday night and paid £19. No complaints about the room, basic but clean. Staff helpful. Noisy between 12.30and 01.00 with people returning to their rooms, but I didn't hear anything after that. I wouldn't pay full price for a room here but given it's location, it's very good value for £19 or... more

We arrived in Newcastle without a booking and thought that it would be okay to stay here for one night. Quite frankly, it would have been quieter sleeping in the street. Our neighbours were partying when we arrived ( 7.30 p.m.) and continued non stop until 11 p.m. They returned in the wee hours and continued. Admittedly, I was told... more
