My wife and I brought our son to Newcastle for a university interview and needed an overnight stay. Choose this hotel as it had reasonable reviews and their `offers` were good. Also another couple doing the same thing had posted a good review. Very friendly staff who went out of their way to accommodate us (we didn`t leave our room... More

This review is solely of the restaurant. I have never stayed at the Jesmond Hotel but have eaten there on many occasions. The restaurant, previously known as Amers but recently refurbished and renamed the Jesmond Brasserie, used to be excellent. It was awarded a Michelin Bib Gourmand when Paul Amers was the Chef. Unfortunately, he has since moved on. Although... More

Jesmond Brasserie welcomes all comments and appreciates yours. The concept of Amers was fine dining as opposed to the casual dining of Jesmond Brasserie and so the style of food is bound to be different. Our concepts are wholly separate and we hope you understand that we are not trying to be Amers but Jesmond Brasserie. We do not deny... More

Stayed at the hotel over the weekend for one night. PROS - The area the hotel is in is really nice and feels safe - The hotel itself is inviting, the reception is very nicely decorated - The price is good for the area - The room was clean and well presented - Free wifi (although did not use this... Location is ok but very small room. The toilet was dirty in the room we stayed. No one bothered to clean the room and no replacement of milk, tea and shampoo on the 2nd day of our stay. The receptionist were full of attitude and rude to us. We'll not stay at this hotel again! More

Stayed here for one night as we were watching Arctic Monkeys at the Metro Arena. Our first impressions were excellent, clean and well presented reception area and friendly staff. Our room number 23 was at the front of the building, it was well presented and larger than expected. A little tired but comfortable. My only problem with the room was... More

I recently stayed for one night at this hotel as I was visiting friends in the locality. First impressions are imperative for any stay and people often forget that the first experience you have of a place is the telepone manner of the receptionist - many places I have phoned are too busy to speak to you or just plain... My room was spotless and had modern decor and fixtures. The bed was extremely comfortable, firm without being excessively hard. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and breakfast was abundant and quite reasonably priced (£5). I encountered only two things I'd change: (1) The wireless signal doesn't reach to the top floor, which means I couldn't go online from... More

Stayed at the Jesmond Hotel 25th Sept for 2 nights. I have stayed in a few hotels in Newcastle, where my son is at uni, and I would say that this was the best so far.The staff are very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was very good and at only £5 a head really good value. Although... More

We spent around 7 days at the Jesmond Hotel which is in the Cocktail Belt in Osborne Road in genteel Jesmond and enjoyed every minute there! The staff were most obliging and we were very well looked after right down to a temporary residents parking pass for the car. Breakfast was really first class and - unusual these days -... More
