This was our second stay in this hotel and things have only improved. First visit in summer of 2005 and again in Feb 2008, actually got the same room twice and in 2008 has been very recently done up to a high standard. The staff are very friendly and the breakfast is fantastic. Easy walk into town or via the... more

We stayed in this hotel for 4 nights, the staff here were very helpful and friendly, so much so Charles gave us a lift to Gateshead !! The hotel has been under some renovations and which compliments the restaurant. Try the food as it is top notch. more

We had occasion to stay at the Jesmond for 3 nights on two separate occasions for family business in Newcastle and we were given a room that had been renovated and handed over just 3 days before. It was excellent!. Quite spaciious for a small hotel with great ensuite, plasma screen TV, coffee and tea etc. Lovely muted neutral tones,... more

My husband and I stayed at the Jesmond when my husband had to have a stay in the Nuffeild hospital close by, they made me feel at home and at ease. Real nice people. more

Used to stay here regularly when it was the Ferncourt, it has since changed hands and the place has totally changed. Little variety of food choice and the once busy bar is like a morgue. Poor service as well. What a Pity. more

It is 20 minute walk from the centre that however can be reached by the near Metro. Just a remark: the rooms in which we stayed were too much little. For the rest I reccomend... more

This hotel describes itself as a small friendly family run business, and this is an accurate description. After a bad experience in a city centre hotel, I checked into the Jesmond Hotel - not realising that I'd actually stayed here before - when it was the Ferntower Hotel. The woman on reception was all smiles and friendliness, and likes a... more

TERRIBLE! The above sentiment sums up this hotel and its staff! I arrived to be told that I had to pay up front for my two night stay. I of course questioned this and was merely told that she did not trust her guests not to run off without paying! I decided not to argue further as it seemed pointless... more

I am a middle aged business woman and after a long day at the Royal Infirmary, awaiting the complicated birth of my grandchild, returned to this hotel for the night. Unfortunately when drawing heavy curtains over a totally inadequate rail, which had not been securely attached at one end, they fell on top of me bringing the rail and fittings... more

We booked some clients in here a week ago. They had a great time at the Ferncourt and thought Newcastle was brilliant! more
