We stayed here for a hen night because it was cheap, but you expect a few basics to be right. All our beds were awful. Mine in particular had no springs on the right hand side of the bed so I had to wedge myself between the wall and the bed on the otherside otherwise I would have rolled out... more

Spent one Saturday night here - a rare privilige in Newcastle! Most hotels insist on minimum 2 night stays. The Osborne was homely and clean and our room for 3 adults was an adequate size. Didn't experience any late night noise as I'd read in a previous review. We found Jesmond to be a quiet area, (even though it was... more

We (3 guys) had a one night stay here in April 2008; £105 for a 'family room' including breakfast. I slept in, for breakfast but the guys said it was just what the doctor ordered. Other members of our party paid £120 each for room only in the nearby Caledonian Hotel. To be honest there was nothing to choose between... more

We won't be staying here again. The standard basics weren't provided, or if they were, were poor - for example: no coat hangers; no shower gel/shampoo; matresses ancient, uncomfortable & stained; plastic matress protectors didn't fit, and were hard, so they slipped off and were also uncomfortable; tea left in the teapot from a previous occupant hadn't been cleaned out... more

Friendly welcome and helpful staff. Room was very spacious and bathroom clean. Breakfast was okay, could have been better - toast was brick hard, no veggie options. Good location to enjoy Jesmond and Newcastle. Would definately recommend staying here to friends. more

Second visit to this hotel and to be honest its not the Hilton but its definitely the most friendliest hotel in Newcastle. If you want a drink at 6 in the morning you can get one no problem, Anne is amazing and would do anything to make your stay an enjoyable one. Although not the glitziest inside the restaurant (Spago)... more

Working in Newcastle for a few days midweek and found the Osborne Hotel to fill all the critera I needed. Free Wi Fi, excellent food in the Italian restaurant next door which can be added to your bill., breakfast is served here also. Staff very helpfull, beds comfy and one of the best showers I've come across for ages. Bit... more

Have just come back from a weekend in Newcastle and a stay at the Osborne hotel. It was very well priced, costing under £40 a night and whilst not the most glamorous of places to stay it did the job. It was clean, near to a metro station, had a very nice and well priced italian restaurant attached and the... more

Spent two nights at the Osborne in early January. Lots of happy partying people at the next door Italian restaurant, but had absolutely none of the noise problems in the hotel that earlier reviews report. Just adequate room with a single bed, a desk with chair, a tv, a small couch with a table, nice and clean bathroom. Exceptionally nice... more

Me and 9 other girls have just got back from a wicked weekend in Newcastle! We all stopped at the Osbourne hotel. It was great value for money and all the staff there were very helpful and friendly. The rooms were clean and spacious, and from what I heard from the other girls the brecky was good, but I couldn't... more
