We only stayed for one night but this has always been my favourite Malmaison - great building, great location. We did have a suite which was very nice and seemed quite newly decorated. It smelt lovely when we walked in. A bit disappointed we didn't have a better view - we looked away from the Tyne Bridge overlooking office blocks... more

I booked this hotel for myself and 9 friends on the Girls Night In package. It was £99 per person for bed and breakfast, a spa treatment, a bottle of wine per room and "mal munchies" in the room in the evening. When we arrived my room had been upgraded and all others have a wonderful view of the Tyne... more

Stayed here for one night. Just very disappointed, expected this hotel to be special, but it just felt like being in an old worn out nightclub. £145 for the room for 1 night, no breakfast included, not even a biscuit to go with the complimentary tea/coffe. The whole place was very darkly lit, it felt like there was something to... more

Hairdryer, ironing board & iron etc all provided in the room. Fanastic View - Millenium Bridge, the River & the Sage looked wonderful all lit up Parking in the multi-story opposite was only £4 for one... more

I had booked the Malmaison for a number of reasons. Firstly, it was my birthday treat from my husband as I was taking part in the Great North Run and he wanted me to have a comfortable / luxurious stay in a hotel after nearly killing myself running. Secondly the Malmaison has the reputation for providing luxury and the reviews... more

Room was spacious ,large comfortable bed ,with good decor and good sized ,if a little dark, bathroom.Malmaison say they "dare to be different" but this means they only supply wine glasses in the room... more

Stayed at malmaison beginning of weekend (even though we only live 3 miles away). Room HMS Norfolk was fine, though on closer inspection (if you want to be picky) needed a lick of paint here and there and shower desperately needs re-grouting. Bed headboard had dodgy looking white stains on it! Having said all that room had decent views of... more
