I have stayed here on two seperate occasions in the last few weeks. The first time I arrived to find the hotel computer systems down. I had booked a standard room but as Priority Club Platinum member I expected an upgrade. As always with this chain I had to ask for the upgrade but was told as the computer was... more

Me and my freinds stayed at the hotel for one night on Saturday 11th March 2006. We arrived at lunchtime to a rather busy reception with other stag and hen parties checking in. The receptionist was cheerful and quickly arranged the keys and we was off to the room. The room was on the small side and smelt a bit... more

this hotel is about 10 minutes drive from newcastle centre. it is very satisfactory and would be a three star. the outside of the building loks old and run down but it is very plesant on the inside. the rooms are very large and spacious with all amenities such as trousers presser, tea/coffee making facilities etc.... the pool is small... more

We stayed at this hotel for a weekend at the end of January 2006. As it appears InterContinental Hotels are focusing on their HIExpress brand in the UK, Holiday Inn's have suffered since then from lack of investment I knew not to expect great things from this hotel but it was central and cheap. Reception staff were pleasant (when they... more

I stayed here for one night in February 2006 having booked through the priority club website paying GBP65 room only. I am a Platinum Priority Club member which presumably means I'm one of their better customers. I was therefore very surprised and disappointed to be given a room that would be described as compact if I was being generous. I... more

This is not what I have come to expect from a Holiday Inn - rooms cramped, very hot (no A/C), furniture scratched and shabby (old Post House?) and rooms did not appear clean. Tiny bathroom. Restaurant dinner was poor over-priced pub grub; breakfast was fine. Central location is good, but you have to be aware of the parking rules if... more

Hotel let us check in without informing us that a boiler problem meant there was no hot water - only found out when I tried to have a shower and wash my hair before going out for the evening. Apart from that the room was OK, just about big enough. Not plagued by noise like some other reviewers but we... more

Service at reception was awful, they were not helpful in the least bit and seemed annoyed having customers interupting them when we checked in (and out). For instance they didn't look at you or acknowledge you and mumbled when they spoke to you. When I booked online it stated parking was £12/ day but when we checked in we found... more

Stayed here from 15-17 October 2004 and it was grand. Located about a 5 min walk from the city centre, you cant go wrong if your looking for somewhere central to stay and that you can bring someone back to your room for some fun! The price for the room was good, but dont eat here as its very expensive... more
