We stayed in the hotel for 3 nights. Everthing was excellent from the food to the swimming pool. The lesuire club is great and the gym is welll equipped. we ate 2 nights in the hotel in the bar, both meals were excellent. There are plenty of shops nearby. Newcastle town center and Metro shopping center are just a short... more

It is difficut not to give this hotel top marks as the only problem we had was the food or lack of it. we entered the restaurant at about 8 o,clock when we promptly ordered our meals, half an hour later we still had not been served. There were less than 30 people in the restaurant which on a saturday... more

We booked The Village Hotel for a weekend dinner dance package (my wife and I) and found the hotel, the staff and the room of a very high standard. The hotel staff were the friendliest I have come across and could'nt do enough for you at any time. The bar meals were excellent for quality, price and quantity. The leasure... more

I stayed there on october 2006 and let me tell you that, for the price you pay, the hotel is very crappy. It's very dark, the room smells and there is nothing to do. The food in the restaurant and the pub is very bad. That bad that I preferred to walk 15minutes, take the metro and go downtown for... more

After reading the Village website I was hoping it would be a poor man's Malmaison... it says it has 'cool understated design' and shows you a zen-like boutique-hotel type room. It's not like that, it's like a slightly posh Harvester: rust-coloured flowery wallpaper borders, pattered carpets, brass handrails etc. It's horribly in the middle of nowhere, ie an industrial estate,... more

Stayed here due to the pool for our children which was nice, however it is very clear that this establishment is more focused on its leisure guests than those staying at the hotel. There was dirty plates left outside the lift for 1/2d, the cleanliness of the rooms was average (a surprise given the cost), and the price of the... more

Stayed here when visiting a close location for business. I don't tink there is not much else in the immediate vicinity otherwise. The price was very reasonable and the room was clean and large enough. The buffet full english breakfast was excellent, and I also had an okay meal in the pub dining room, However I was in a room... more

I booked a superior twin room for me and my 14 year old son as we were visiting relatives in the area. Great big free carpark which was a real bonus as we had considered staying in the city centre but worried about parking. We were given room 274 which was lovely and big. I had a super king size... more

I have to say that from the moment that my husband, 2 daughters and I arrived at the hotel the staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. We were very impressed with our first impressions of the hotel it was open, spacious and had a welcoming feel to it. But we were let down with a bang when we entered the... more
