It was clean - it was very dated, felt like I'd stepped back in time. Staff not particularly friendly . I would only stay there if nowhere else - worth paying a bit more to stay elsewhere. more

I found the rooms very small, whilst standing in the middle of the room I could either side at the samr time. The Ca park is adequete, and most of the staff where plesant except one as the TV remote was removed from my room, so beware there is a tv remote thief on the loose! To veiw the TV... more

Not sure how many stars it has (2/3?) but you get what you pay for which was a pleasant surprise after reading some of the comments here! The staff were helpful, my room was clean with an adequately stocked bathroom and tea and coffee and a perfectly useable kettle. Breakfast was adequate - continental included in the price with hot... more

I stayed here for one night with friends before starting the Hadrian's Wall walk in the morning. It was a dismal start, and would have been a horrible end to the holiday had we been walking in the other direction. The area is anonymous and dead, the hotel shabby-looking from the outside, and very basic on the inside. I have... more

Nice place with simple facilities. there was a telly in the room, and a decent shower and bathtub. wifi internet access is available at the bar/restaurant. ample free parking at the courtyard carpark. book online for a slightly lower rate compared to the normal walk-in room rates. think its about 10 pounds cheaper. more

its just old, and has dis interested staff, and there are better options in tyne mouth or newcastle, and then a quick metro to the start. It probably doesnt aim at the hadrians wall walker market, but with the name its got you'd think it would. We just found it a dismal and uninspiring start for our weeks walking holiday.... more

Plus points of this hotel are that it is next to the Metro so easy access for City centre, Price was reasonable for what you got, ok if stopping for a Stag weekend, or in a emergency, but the decor was very dated, our room, a double with a single attachment, was basic 70's fitments. Some wall paper was coming... more

Horrible, horrible hotel. For mid week in the area, it was slightly more expensive than some of the others that we looked at through the booking website so we thought we would be a bit safer. We were wrong. The room we were shown was damp, dingy and old and cold - to the point where we decided straight away... more

I visited Hadrian lodge as part of 10 lads on a stag do. This is the wrong location for a stag do as you want to be around the city centre not a 10-15min train journey away. The location isnt good with no other bars insight & the hotel bar has no sky t.v. The hotel is dated but clean... more

This place is interesting... Booked this place because of the price, however it was clear when we arrived the price did reflect the state of the hotel. The place itself is easily found off the metro line, however we were slightly disappointed upon our arrival as it is not the greatest looking hotel from the outside. It's a bit shabby... more
