I have been staying here a few times a year for nearly 20 years. The location is convient for my requirements and the area nice for a an evening walk, and lots of resturants just down the road. The title pretty much sums it up. After parking a 5minute walk away, getting back to find my room key no longer worked, lying down to relax to find the TV had no plug (?!), trying to call reception to find the phone didn't work I was so irritated I had to get online and write a review. I specifically booked a non smoking room as I'm slightly allergic to cigarette smoke (and also stale smoke stinks anyway), but despite checking it at 2.00pm there were none left so I was given a smoking room. God knows what time you have to check in to get a non-smoking. I think I've been in larger bathrooms in some hotels... more
Just returned from a last-minute romantic weekend break in Newcastle, the party capital of England.
