Ladies, stay far, far away from this place. There's a lot more semi-permanent residents than backpackers, so the clientele is 90% male, and some are quite obnoxious. Stayed here on a Saturday night whilst backpacking Hadrians Wall. Rooms okay, free tea / coffee / toast, quite handy for the trail, very handy for the city centre. Stayed here for 1 night. Bright, clean great staff. Central location very close to Newcastle central station and an easy walk to the Quay side. Will deff stay here on my next visit to the North East more

Very friendly staff. Flexible approach. Were aware of our needs as a family with young children without needing stuff to be pointed out. Offered us to a cheaper room when they realised one was available (without being asked). Quiet at night (although we were mid-week). Clean. Decent cooking facilities. Very central.
