I travel quite a lot around the country and have come to know what is a reasonable room rate and what to look for in terms of ratings etc. However, I made a big mistake booking into Castle Laurels at £75 a night for a twin room. This was a late booking who was pleased to be accommodated in their preferred area. There was never any indication given that being on the second floor was a problem at the time of being shown the room or during their stay. The cereal product mentioned was in fact in date which we tried to mention at the time and...

From the outside this hotel looks deceptively small and simple however on entering, you are welcomed with a lot of warmth. The room was clean, comfortable and cunningly spacious. The landlady takes pride in her decorations and every morning you are greeted with a satisfying breakfast menu.
