Hotel's Favourite
I spent 4 nights here to get away from the bustle of life and relax. I upgraded my room to a family room and had a a fabulous, relaxing time. The grounds are lovely and the staff are attentive and friendly. Roger and Kosta were wonderful, so helpful and friendly, they went out of their way to make me feel welcome and at ease. Being a single traveller can be quite lonely and intimidating but they really made my stay. This hotel is great value for money and is in a fantastic location.

Family overnight stay for Mother’s Day We booked this hotel for a relaxing spa experience, upon arrival we was told it was shut and maybe would be open later … it was not, so that was disappointing Never mind , it was nice to spend time in a lovely setting , the breakfast was lovely and the beds were comfy the only thing I would like to warn others is that if you suffer from asthma don’t stay here ! I struggled as the hallway and room 205 smelt strongly of mould and it went straight to my chest !

Beautiful surroundings and accommodation was cosy and warm. Only a short ramble into Stratford so great location. The spa facilities were lovely but the pool was closed on our second day which was a bit disappointing. Definitely recommend or stay here again if in the area.

So our visit was booked for an overnight stay and use of the spa facilities as it was for my partners 40th birthday. Upon arrival the grounds are beautiful and peaceful. The majority of the staff are lovely and attentive. We checked in earlier so we could make full use of the spa and when we arrived there was a note on the door to say that all pools are closed. I asked the staff member at the spa what the issue was and he said he is unsure but they're working really hard to get it fixed but it might not be today. I went over to main reception to state that  the pools were closed and why weren't we informed about it. Sioned stated she was only told an hour and a half ago and wasn't sure how long the pool would be closed so people who have checked in already she couldn't speak to (in this day and age I'm very aware systems do let you know when people have checked in for H&S purposes and in the event of an emergency). I said we booked the hotel so we could use the spa, She said there isn't much she could offer and if i want to go she can offer me a full refund. I am extremely disappointed by her attitude and poor customer service skills. I understand it's not her fault that the pools don't work and she can't magically fix it but to be told there's not alot she can do and if i want to leave, she can offer me a full refund is her best option is in my opinion a passive aggressive way of dealing with the matter. Customer service to me is number one priority you want to be made to feel welcome and that any concerns you have are dealt with in a professional and empathetic way. The following day we asked at reception if it was open and they said no not for at least a couple of hours. I asked the night before what the issue was and they said the PH levels were too high surely with nearly 24 hours it would of neutralised by then?  No compensation was offered, no apology from anyone, I certainly won't be recommending this place to any friends or family members.

Booked afternoon tea for 7 people well in advance and called several times to confirm everything was in place. Arrived on the day to be told they had lost the booking and after being sent from the hotel to the spa and back they then found us some where to sit finally being served an hour after we were meant to be seated. No compensation or apology was offered. The afternoon tea itself was just ok, was told they were rushing to make the food as they ‘weren’t expecting us’. And the food they did provide was not enough for the 7 people I had booked. The afternoon tea was for a 50th birthday celebration and this certainly put a damper on the whole occasion. Will not be returning.

Dear Mila, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback regarding your recent afternoon tea experience with us. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and disappointment you encountered during what should have been a special celebration. It is truly regrettable to hear that despite your proactive efforts to confirm the booking in advance, there was a miscommunication on our part that led to a significant delay and inconvenience upon your arrival. We understand the frustration this must have caused, and we apologise for the lack of compensation or apology extended to you at the time. This is not reflective of the high standard of service we aim to provide, and we deeply regret the negative impact this had on your birthday celebration. Regarding the quality and quantity of the afternoon tea, we are disappointed to learn that it did not meet your expectations. We apologize for any inconsistency in the service and presentation of the food. Rest assured, we will address this matter with our culinary team to ensure that such issues are rectified promptly and do not recur in the future. We understand that your experience fell short of what you anticipated and that this has led to your decision not to return. We sincerely hope that you will reconsider, as it would be our utmost priority to restore your faith in our establishment and provide you with the exceptional experience you deserve. Once again, we apologize for the shortcomings you experienced and appreciate your feedback, which will assist us in making necessary improvements. If you would be willing to give us another chance, we would be delighted to have the opportunity to make it right for you. Please feel free to reach out to us directly if you would like to discuss your experience further or if there is anything else we can do to address your concerns. Overall a lovely visit to this beautifully located Hotel. The Welcombe Hotel is beautifully located with gorgeous views overlooking an 18 hole golf course. ROOM We stayed in the superior double room, 119. The room was lovely and spacious, with a beautiful bathroom. It had a large flatscreen Tv which was great to connect our phone to for music! The room had disappointing views which looked out to a service area, it was a bit of an eye sore but didn't affect our stay. We did notice there were bits of dust hanging from the ceiling and also some of the window latches were loose. I think the outdoor courtyard should be made to be more inviting, a place to drink in the summer - lots of potential there. SPA PROS Upon arriving into the SPA, you notice the brickwork and beautiful interior in the reception. There is a wonderful outdoor hot-springs area, lovely pool and great jacuzzi. CONS Having worked in the SPA industry for the last 8 years there were definitely a few 'attention to details' that need addressing. - Staff upon arrival seemed like they didn't want to be there, not very welcoming. - More staff needed to man pool areas. Kids jumping off the jacuzzi into the pool. A lot of obnoxious behaviour from some guests which doesn't fit in with the SPA atmosphere. - The state of the MENS changing room is AWFUL. Lockers outdated and some hanging off hinges. You NEED to sort the padlock situation out - let guests know they NEED a padlock to secure items. Clearly know one cleans the towels away, the dirty ones were stacked so high - not a relaxing sight to see. Showers very open, no privacy. Overall - outdated and unkept. - The state of womens changing rooms - same as above but slightly better facilities. dirty towels everywhere. FOOD Breakfast was perfect! Lovely stay but the SPA needs to be looked at from a customers point of view. I WOULD stay again :)

We booked an overnight spa retreat. When we arrived we were told that there were no spa appointments as there was a 'problem with the booking'. The hotel blamed the spa, the spa blamed the hotel. We were passed between at least 5 different staff members, none of whom managed to fix the issue. The room was tried and basic. The spa had no robes, the facilities were tired and old. The food was expensive and average. The service was slow. All in all it was awful.

It’s a shame because it was a lovely place, the spa was amazing and food delicious, staff nice. However for the price paid to stay here you’d expect more care to be taken in service given. The venue is so hard to get in touch with, I tried calling, emailing and messaging on social media. We paid for a package which included treatments but these not booked in advance. When I finally got through to ask about these and confirm which treatments we’d like and what time they would be I was told twice someone would get back to me but again had to call before someone did. Unfortunately by this time there were none left available for the day we’d booked so we missed them, I asked for a refund which staff were fine with however I realised after coming home that the refund was not given but instead taken from my bank, I’m still trying to get in touch to have this rectified. As part of the package I paid for the room was supposed to be set up upon arrival, nothing was set up I had to go down stairs to ask for it which spoilt the surprise unfortunately. The spa was stunning and although signposted that children under 16 should not be in certain areas of the spa children were there with no one to man this. The meal was beautiful and breakfast also stunning and easy to use, the location was gorgeous. It’s such a shame so many issues happened for just 1 nights stay. I do feel disappointed because this had the potential to be a really nice experience.
