Myself and my partner decided on a romatic night in Stratford but unfortunately didn't book anywhere in advance. We turned up and had a look around and found Stretton House, by chance. As we were staying for one night we didn't bring any luggage, only one bag between us and as we had caught the bus from Birmingham, didn't drive.... more

Stayed in Stretton House and even though Stratford is an amazing place to visit the accommodation was a bit poor. The main problem is the food... I am sure that an untrained idiot could cook a better breakfast than the one that was forced upon us. I think that the sausage and bacon (reformed) was boiled and the oh so... more

This B&B is in a good central location, with parking and is also fairly cheap. The twin room I shared was small, clean and adequate although I had to turn the matress as it had seen better days. The breakfast was ok - nothing special. My lasting memory will be of the extremely grumpy and rude owner who has to... more

If you want breakfast before 8-8.30 go somewhere else. This place is not run for the guest., just for the owners to pocket the money and do the minimum for it. Booked in and went out, came back to a freezing room, with an open window and heating turned off. However managed to find an extra blanket in a cupboard... more

Cold and souless, not a picture on the walls, the 'en suite' was smaller than the wardrobe and the shower a dribble, the room was freezing when we arrived and we were told that the heating didn't come on until 5 p.m. so we were left to freeze, no choice of breakfast , absolutely dire. Looked like the beds had... more

Until you get to Stratford, you have no idea how many guesthouses there are in Stratford, so beforehand we played it safe and booked with an AA rated one. The room was pretty standard, a small twin for an overnight stay £50 for the two of us. However, Beverly Short who manages the guesthouse is quite ill informed about tourist... more

My husband and son (early twenties) and I stayed in a "triple" at the Stretton Guest House during the Christmas Season. It was a very comfortable room for the three of us and the location was great! Hospitality was very good and the owners were helpful! We had a wonderful time. Parking in Stratford is a bit tight... but, the... more

Well, I'm not sure if two of the other reviews on here are for the same guest house frankly! Yes, the rooms are on the small side of average, but this is a guesthouse for goodness sake, not the Ritz Carlton! En-suite bathroom was small, but very clean and functional, the breakfasts were hearty, well cooked and appetising, and if... more

Our stay at Stretton was pleasant enough. The rooms were cosy and clean, you don't really need a huge room if, like us, you'll be exploring the sights of Stratford, you just need somewhere to rest your head at night! The breakfast was hearty and kept us going all day. The owner was friendly enough and didn't make our stay... more

With so many lovely choices in bucolic Stratford, why endure disgruntled and unhappy service at your bed and breakfast? Though fairly well appointed (rooms are clean, but very small) and boasting a lovely garden out front, the antics and demeanor of the Stretton's Napoleonic owner far outweigh these small boons. Stretton is one of many, many guest houses on Grove... more
