We (family of 4 with teenagers) stayed here for one night. As many previous reviewers have commented, Pascal is very friendly and helpful host with information on the area and recommendations for dining. He made introductions at breakfast (the only place to do so) and added lots of humour. He seemed put out that the only my husband wanted the... more

My companion and I spent five weeks traveling in the U.K. We spent three nights at the Salamander Guest House in Stratford Upon Avon and it was the finest accommodations we have experienced. The proprietor whom we knew as Pascal, was extraordinarily attentive to our needs. The guest house was attractively decorated, immaculately clean and very pleasant. Breakfasts were served... more

Pascal is a very welcoming and knowledgeable host with a quirky sense of humour. He is certainly very entertaining and this adds to the enjoyment of the stay. The location of the Salamander is excellent and within close proximity to almost all the attractions that Stratford has to offer. On arrival Pascal is extremely helpful, providing tips and hints on... more

Pascal is very charming and witty. His Guest House is convienently located and in easy walking distance to anywhere in Stratford. Pascal is very helpful with town suggestions and directions. Breakfast was delicious. We rented 3 rooms for 2 nights. The rooms were comfortable but if you want a hot shower stay somewhere else. We had this problem with 2... more

We stayed here for two nights at the end of June. The best thing about the Salamander, is without doubt, it's host Pascal. A wonderful Frenchman, with a bone-dry sense of humour and a habit of introducing his guest at breakfast, usually accompanied by witty little asides. He is very knowledgeable about the local area and where to eat and... more

Pros: Location--close to train station and city center Helpful host (though he was a little disappointed that we wanted scrambled eggs instead of fried) Excellent toast and breakfast Extremely Reasonable rates Fun breakfast-time introductions emceed by host Cons: Name (Why "The Salamander?") One room smelled strongly of stale cigarettes even though smoking is not allowed. Clearly this wasn't the host's... more

Due to circumstances entirely my own fault, we arrived at the Salamander Guest House at 6:55 PM, and we needed to be at the Courtyard Theatre before the 7:15 curtain. Pascal Dellin, the most energetic host one would want to have, dropped everything and within 3 minutes was driving us in his car to the theatre. We made it in... more

It was our first trip to the UK and our first stop after a long flight from the states. Many great things about this B&B including its proximity to the train station. Pascal was a fabulous host. Very knowlegdable about Stratford and the surrounding area. The beds in the room were so very comfortable and the breakfast was plentiful and... more

The moment we arrived, we were given a very warm welcome by Anna, the hostess of this guest house. We were very pleased with the clean and spacious rooms. Pascal, the host made an even greater impression on us. He was friendly, informative and helped us immediately to feel at home. The breakfast was wonderful-the food was delicious. I wished... more

Pascal from the outset makes you welcome and points you in the right direction if you haven't visited Stratford before. He has a unique sense of humor. Introduces guests to each other at breakfast time. The Guest House is within easy walk of the centre (5mins) and Ann Hathaways cottage is a nice walk along a narrow tarmac pathway which opens... more
