Stayed in single room over weekend, and yes rooms are a little tired, but for the cost acceptable. Staff friendly and helpful, and few minor issues dealt with very well. breakfast excellent, good choice and freshly cooked. Would return!

Stayed two nights last week. Room 101 (really??). I thought thick grain veneer went out with the 80's but the wardrobe and desk, headboard / bedside furniture were all covered in the stuff. Carpet badly stained, wall paper as you enter heavily stained. Ironing board left out in the middle of the room. No view. Tiny TV which makes annoying... More

I stayed here for two days recently on business and I can report the following: Check in - speedy, efficient Floorboards - as you would expect in a 500 year old building Decor - decaying 1930's grandeur Room - very very bijou for a double room Bath - Crimean Shower - low Walls - paper Wallpaper - hysterical Bed -... The staff here are an asset to the hotel. Reception staff were very friendly and helpful. I came to Warwick so that I could compete at a swimming competition at Leamington. I would recommend this hotel to anyone swimming at Leamington next year. My room was spacious but in need of some refurbishment. The bed was hard but surprisingly comfortable.... More

We spent 4 nights at the Lord Leycester recently, for only £40 per night, two people including an full breakfast. The hotel is old (that's part of its attraction), and consequently not in the best condition (e.g. our windows didn't open properly, and many rooms would be inaccessible for the disabled), but the staff are very helpful, and with the... I stayed with my girlfriend for 3 days in mid April 2013. Whilst I agree that the floorboards are incredibly squeaky and the music from the wedding party on the Saturday night was a tad loud (But over by Midnight :) ) We thouroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel is in an excellent location a few minutes from the town... More

I also agree with the previous comments that the recent negative views on this hotel are not justified. We booked 2 nights 11/12th April en route to York. We chose this hotel for its great location and FREE car park. We arrived at 2.00pm and our room was not ready- not a problem reception offered us coffee while we waited but... More

I agree with the recent reviewer who thinks that many of the reviews on this hotel are over critical. Granted that on our arrival we had to wait to check in because someone was complaining quite rudely about the state of their room. We found the staff perfectly helpful, the rooms were adequate and most importantly for me both clean... More

Booked myself and my wife in (April 11th and 12th 2013) as we were joining family in Warwick for a wedding. Selected it for its reasonable price, private parking and proximity to the venues we'd be using. it scores highly on all three counts. My daughter suggested I should have looked at Trip Adviserr first - she stayed elsewhere in... More

Good points first - This hotel is superbly located about 2 minutes walk from Warwick Castle and has its own car park for guests. The entrance lobby, restaurant and lounge are lovely - very nicely decorated and in keeping with the period of the hotel. The staff were very friendly - we called ahead and asked if we could check...
