It was fun, as this place is full of rules to remember.. There is a bar downstairs, where you can have a cocktail. Every monday one can have free pizzas in the evening. There is a very good selection of films to watch as well. The location is great, just a walk to the center of the city, which is... more

I stayed at this hostel in late September of 2009.It was your usual " no frills" type of hostel. It was clean and comfortable. The location was good.It was 2 minute walk from downtown. But was on a quiet side street. The view out the window was of an industrial park. But i dont spend my times at hostels looking out the window.... more

Staryed here for 2 nights in late October and had a great time. People seem to complain a lot about how 'dodgy' the place is. But, it may look like a desolate, run down area, but its just basically surrounded by businesses. We rarly saw anyone around the area, and those we did, were simply working there. So, we didn't... more

Had no choice but to stay here due to financial constraints. Best hostel in Birmingham? you must be joking!! Small, claustrophobic staircases, dingy rooms with lumpy mattresses and beds which creaked and squeaked almost to the point of collapse, showers with the worst water pressure ever and the door to the room...... one minute it doesn't shut properly, next minute... more

I really had a great time here and it seemed that other travellers did also. The staff are very helpful and there seems to be different things set up each night for you to do. THe location is great, right next to the coach station. Very colorful perhaps a bit too colorful but really makes the place come alive. Highly... more

The service in this hostel is great. They offer you breakfast and in the evening there's always something to eat like soup, hot dogs, ... . The rooms are being cleaned every day. What I remember the most of my stay is that everyone just hangs out in the common room. You've got all the nationalities living together and enjoying... more

And friend and I were in this hostel for 1 week!!!!! It was so great. We met so many different people. We had a 6 bed room and everyday new people in it! It was amazing. We had breakfast in the morning with toast, fresh fruit, juice, coffee and different toppings for the toast. In the evening (8.30pm) there was... more

A really fantastic hostel, stayed here for a night last week. I have never stayed at a hostel before and I was pleasantly surprised, it was clean, comfortable and cheap with helpful, friendly staff and a really relaxed atmosphere. The décor was really nice. Colourful rooms and the common room and outdoor area had lots of lovely hanging lanterns, lights,... more

We enjoyed one night stay in June 2009, in a clean, pleasant private room. Friendly, accommodating staff, and it was pizza night, so that was all good. But you should be aware that "central" apparently is a flexible word in Brummie. The hostel was a 20-minute schlep from the train station, and the separate building we were in is another... more

I stayed at the BCB for 5 nights during a convention i was attending. I was in a 6 person dorm and unfortunately there were people in the room who were not a part of the convention so we were constantly up before them and to bed after them...they complained we were making too much noise, but it was no... more
