Awful check in staff - could hardly speak a word of English and ran off to fetch the Manager re: Car Park vouchers ( which don't exist) when we didn't even ask about it. Made us feel like we were on some sort of candid camera show it was so sureal. The receptionist kept talking about charging the room and... more

We stayed for one night, booked last minute through the Holiday Inn website for a well-priced dinner, bed and breakfast deal. Having read the reviews, I was expecting either disappointment or pleasant surprise. Luckily it was the latter; we have stayed in a couple of other city centre hotels in Birmingham in the recent past (the Macdonald Burlington, Ramada Birmingham... more

Stayed overnight with a friend so that we could go out in Birmingham and get train to NEC the next day. Stayed at this hotel once before - felt quite neautral about stay. Returned due to cost being good and city centre location. Has howver recenty been refurbed and must say that there is a vast improvement. The room was... more

Stayed for one night on a Monday on business. I've marked the hotel as average not as a criticism - it's perfectly okay for what it is, just nothing special. My room was very nicely furnished/decorated - definitely above average. It had very effective air-conditioning with a control just for the room. No bath in the en-suite but the shower... more

Paid £50 for 1 night for 2 people room only via Priceline. Hotel location is great, close to bullring, arcadian, broad street, new street etc. We had the accessible room as my partner is blind, and it was a great room, comfy, clean, spacious.. Best of all despite the fact that we were in the city centre we had a... more

Not been in long when the fire alarms went off. No roll call or anything at all took place. Not many people seemed to be at this hotel all weekend. Rooms were awful - very hot and and an enormous window shutter right across the room. This made it very dark and brought the walls intoward the room. Clean room,... more

Stayed at many UK Holiday Inns so booked thisone with confidence on the internet. We were going to Birmingham to see our Grandaughter in the Music for Yourth contest in Birmingham City centre. We booked a superior room because we thought we would treat ourselves at bit. Upon arriving the hotel was full of 'little darlings' obviously auditioning for some... more

I stayed here on business last week and to be honest the whole experience was pretty good, check in was efficent was told my room was on the 5th floor when actually it was on the 7th floor (if using the steps) Room service was ok, I did ask for a sauce with my steak however, the did not produce... more

A list positives and negatives about this hotel. Positive Close to everything the gay village, Chinese quarter, main entertainment area, New Street station and the Bullring. The single room was big enough for two people. Staff friendly and helpful. Negative Builders were in renovating the room next to me no mention on the hotel website or anywhere within the hotel... more
