Booked for one night stay .. Outlined requirements as requested on internet site ... Non smoking, twin room, (That's all nothing special) Only to arrive to a MOTEL with high security fence surrounding it .. (nearly have to be a commando to find the entrance) .. and staff that were incapable of using a computer Ended up in a freezer... more

What a find in the middle of the city centre!! Great location with a carpark. Its not a typical Ibis hotel and in fact it is unlike any other hotel, its like a chalet with the accommodation seperate from the main reception. You can come and go as you like without having to go to reception. The staff were very... more

Stayed for one night purely to save having to get a taxi home - probably should have paid the extra for the taxi really! Very unattractive hotel with high security gates and despite only being a 5 min walk from the centre of Brum we still took a taxi as didn't feel safe walking the local streets. Having stayed at... more

Ibis has been on the up for a while now in the budget hotel stakes but this one really lets the side down. The hotel looks like a 1960s holiday camp inside a prison block. High security fencing and shabby buildings are the order of the day here. The rooms have not been refurbished like other Ibis hotels and although... more

I have stayed at Ibis before and was very happy with the accomodation and facilities provided, however this place really is poor! I was here on a trip with my partner to see a show, I think she thought I was taking the P when she saw the room and I think it spoiled her weekend. Along with the dirt... more

The place is on an industrial estate and surrounded by a high fence. If you get in after dark you have to be buzzed in. Very basic rooms, everything worked but the doors had holes in and everything looked very old and warn. There restraunt/bar/reception is like sitting in a school canteen (that needs modernising). Enormous, hideous extractor for cookers/fireplace... more

This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. It is the only hotel I have been to which is fenced in for what I assume are security purposes. To enter the hotel grounds you have to press a buzzer on the gated entrance. There are building sites surrounding the hotel, which provide a nice alarm clock for the... more

My employer paid for the hotel as I was in Birmingham for business. I was really worried what I would find after reading the reviews on tripadvisor, but I had to book this hotel as there were no other hotel rooms available in Birmingham centre for under £90 per night. I found this by looking on the laterooms website and... more

What a nightmare finding it! Drove around for ages as was expecting a typical Ibis block. No mention of the fact it was a like a motel. Fortunately I was on the first floor but I still was walking around in the dark on my own to my room which was pretty scary. Great location for the bullring and new... more

Stayed here for a girls night out. Had interconnecting rooms as requested. It is fairly central - walking distance to the Bullring and Mailbox (which is only a 5 min walk away). Booked it because I've been impressed with Ibis hotels in the past however other reviews are correct - it is a bit of a motel and I felt... more
