Stayed on business. Only good thing is the location with good bars and restaurants close by, which suited us. Alot of outside noise all night. Looks like it has been well used and abused over the years

At £75 per night room only this was well overpriced even if a late booking. Staff polite and pleasant but once through the door into the lift lobby it was all downhill, the bright red walls should have acted as a warning. As reported previously one lift is kaput the other slow. Corridor carpets had trodden in gum, corridor walls... More

Loud fans running al night long hardly slept. Decor really bad, not very clean, torn sheets, grubby carpets, no bath mat, tiny TV in a huge room you can barely see, holes in walls, stains on walls, a bathroom floor you dare to walk on because of the grime, dirty shower curtain. Disgusting, whatever the price!

Appalling, grubby and tatty. Fitremans switch sellotaped over between lifts (one works), grimy bathroom, can't call reception to complain as there's no phone. World's smallest bar of soap. For £20 maybe, not £70. Good location though and staff friendly.

£83 for room only no breakfast. Loud fans running al night long hardly slept. Decor really bad, not very clean, torn sheets, grubby carpets, no bath mat, tiny TV in a huge room you can barely see. Less than clean. Suggest you go to Jurys instead it was full sadly !

I feared the worst, but it wasn't. 2 days for business, and the lift and corridors were battered and grim. But the room was big and clean, if basic. Plenty of plugs, I borrowed a hair drier with no problems at all and reception was always helpful. Don't bother with the breakfast, better is available almost anywhere and there are... More

We stayed on Broad Street for 1 night as it was cheaper than paying for a taxi home - bargain at £21. Room was basic but clean. We had a room on floor 5 and at the end of the corridor so not too noisy. The security man on reception in the early hours of the morning was great too... More

Recently stayed here for just one night and it was obvious from the start that this hotel needs a lot investment just to make it reasonable. There is a distinct smell of air fresher everywhere that is attempting to mask stale odours which is best described as unpleasant. One of the lifts was out of order, whilst the other one... More

If you want a city centre location, you'll be happy! If you want a clean, quiet, modern room with good facilities, avoid this 'hotel' at all costs. The receptionist was very friendly and as we have two children advised that we moved rooms to a higher floor to get away from the noise. We moved to the top (8th floor)... More

Despite all the horror reviews on Tripadvisor, we booked this Travelodge anyway for our nightly needs. Since we were not planning to spend a lot of time in our room, Birmingham was mainly a base for other planned trips throughout England. Fortunately, this Travelodge is not the horror hotel a lot of earlier reviewers say it is. It's definitely true;... More
