Unfortunately we stayed only one night, would loved to have stayed longer, as we enjoyed staying at this beautiful historic property. The rooms are beautifully furnished and very large. The bathroom was one of the largest we have come across and the quality of the bathrobes and toiletries were top class. The hotel has an excellent gym and spa that... more

Stayed the night of friday 13th November. Superior room only £94.00 via internet. Rooms was massive and very comfy if a little dark. Bathroom also massive with roll top bath monsoon shower (excellent) and plenty of decent toiletries. Used both bars, very good but a bit dear. Bistro was very good and the pricing was fair. Service prompt and effecient.... more

We stay in Birmingham a lot - my partner's daughter is at the university and we try and time our visits to coincide with Chelsea playing at Aston Villa, B'ham City, or Wolverhampton - we like the busy feel of the city (and the fact that it isn't London). This was our second visit to this hotel - last time... more

The hotel is well located (New Street is easy as are shops and cathedral). The rooms are good and some are quirky. Good bar downstairs, good value restaurant, but the main attraction is the "can do" attitude of all the staff who are helpful and nothing seems too much trouble. more

This the 4th Hotel du Vin that I have stayed at (Tunbridge Wells, Brighton and Cambridge) and I found it the least welcoming of all of them. This may have been because people were arriving for a corporate function at the same time that I checked in. However, service let this hotel down consistently over the course of the overnight... more

I have stayed here a few times now - I only keep coming back because it's paid for by work and is literally across the road from the office! The hotel is just so depressing - every room and corner is dark and dimly lit. You can barely see the buttons on the lift it is so dark. The hotel... more

I would only recommend staying in this hotel IF you get a deal and pay under £100 per night. Whilst it’s undeniably a nice hotel, with clean rooms, amazing bathrooms, very good service and a great location, the hotel is also gloomy, dimly lit and highly pretentious. more

I stayed at the hotel on business, and arrived at 14.30 in a hurry to drop off my stuff and get to a meeting only to be told that my room wasn't ready! I thought this was poor, but after I said so it somehow became available. My first impression was that the hotel looked nice from the outside but... more

I booked several weeks ahead of time using their Friday night offer of a room for £25 as long as you spend over £70 in the brasserie. When I booked I was told that they only had deluxe rooms left and this would be £45. As we were celebrating my wife's birthday I was quite happy to pay the extra... more

We stayed here for one night and had a lovely time. The location is brilliant and is 10 min walk from Birmingham New st Station and mins from the main shopping precinct. I'll start with the one negative which was the very loud bathroom exhaust in our room, which, because it was an open bathroom, took a long time to... more
