Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Thank you to Mona Lisa and the rest of the restaurant team for going the extra mile to make my colleagues special birthday away from home a memorable start to a very long few days. We have stayed here a few times this year when studying, so huge thank you to all the staff for making our time here more memorable.

Arrived with a dog after booking a nice looking room with a rolltop bath at the end of the bed, and informing them we had a pet. Reception informed us that the nice rooms are for “brides etc” implying that it is to good for our needs. Then informing us that dogs are only allowed in the standard rooms. They lead us to our room which was unmade, dirty towels in the bathroom and take away reminence on the floor. Miraculously they then could put us in a executive room which was no different and without a bath at all. Also neither of us had any phone reception as we where in a basement. They then still charged me the full price of £227 for a room I could of got for £138. Very disappointed

The hotel is a very facilitative place because is very easy to locate and situated in the University of Birmingham. You can easily get a parking space. The receptionist on duty by name Christian gave us a warm welcome. We were properly attended to and we had a pleasant stay for our girl's night out.

Nice quiet hotel close to the university of Birmingham. I and friends went for a weekend get away. We had a lovely experience as it was easy to find free parking. Furthermore the rooms were nice with a lovely buffet style breakfast. We felt very welcomed, right from reception where we were attend to by Christian and Olubola who helped us with our luggage to the rooms. Indeed the staff made our stay a memorable one. We will definitely use this hotel on our next visit to Birmingham.

I stayed because I was speaking at the uni. I would stay here again anytime I am in Birmingham. Eli and the other chefs took care of my tricky dietary requirements. Roberta and the other members of the front of house & dining teams were lovely. The rooms comfortable, and the property beautiful. Next time I will make sure to stay with enough time to visit the museum & gardens!

Good hotel in a great location. Good food and comfortable rooms. I needed to be close to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and it was walkable from the hotel. Staff helpful. Clean rooms. The bar area was a good place to sit and relax.

A good city hotel with free parking. I don't think I have ever stayed in a hotel where ALL the staff were really friendly. The restaurant was OK but if I had known how good the bar food was we would have eaten in the bar all the time. We did think it odd that the restaurant only opened for breakfast on Sunday.
