In the the past, I have used cheap and cheerful hotels but this was cheap, filthy, grubby and seemed run down The staff were always very helpful, but the interior needs a complete makeover. There were stains on carpets, the lift was dirty. The whole place was shabby. The room had a filthy and torn sofa bed. There was only... more

I booked this hotel as a stop over for a gig at the NEC - I live in London but it was the only date I could see the band. I must confess to being familiar with Birmingham as I used to live there and our house was close to the Fort so I knew the area and the hotel.... more

I understand this was supposed to be a budget hotel but this was taking the biscuit. For the price i paid which was £50 odd quid it was not worth it. Room was very basic and didnt even have air con. I would advise anyone thinking of staying here to go and stay at Purple Rooms just down the road... more

We stayed here for one night in Feb 09 as we needed to be in birmingham early in the morning and we live in southampton. When we arrived car park very confusing and a fair walk to the reception of travel lodge. on arriving had to ring a bell. A rather stern uninterested girl came out and gave us our... more

We needed to stay to attend a funeral locally - so booked at short notice. It cost £71 with breakfast for a double. On arrival (late evening), the welcome was non existent and the young receptionist asked if I was happy to share a double bed with the man next to me in the queue. I thought maybe they had... more

Stayed at the Travelodge at Fort Dunlop last night as we were attending a party at the Fort Dunlop complex. When we arrived there was nobody on reception so had to ring a bell to get someones attention. The receptionist looked like she couldn't be bothered, pointed us in the direction of our room and sent us on our way.... more

We stayed for 2 nights as we wanted to visit the christmas market in Birmingham. We chose this travelodge as it provided free parking and was a bargain rate of £19 per night. On arrival there was plenty of parking and check in was good. We were on the 10th floor and the room was extremely clean and comfortable. We... more

We have stayed in many Travelodges so pretty much know what to expect in terms of the room and facilities. We have driven past this hotel on several occasions when driving along the M6. Because of its slightly funky exterior look, being attached to Urban Splash, we decided to give it a go when we went to a concert in... more

Paid £29 per night - bargain. Used it as a base to travel round, particularly handy for Drayton Manor. Typical travelodge in room size and amenities. Whilst staff were very nice I did have to ask 3 times for towels and pillows. Breakfast acceptable if you have kids and they eat free i.e. £14 for a family. £7 for one... more

I booked to stay here for 5 nights whilst I was at the NEC, I also booked for an additional room on the 5th night as the rest of my family came up to stay to start with, it was £29 per room (that slept upto 4) per night - you just can't beat that, added to that if you... more
