Whilst working in Coventry I stayed at a few Guest Houses/ Hotels. This was by far the best of the bunch. My room was clean and had lovely bed linen, it was a pleasure to stay in, The full breakfast is super, which only costs £3 extra, The owner is a funny chap with plenty of sea stories. Would defiately... more

Don't stay at this hotel if you like to sleep! We were put in one of the rooms at the front of the hotel and the traffic was so lous and constant that I only slept from 4am-6am! We then asked to move rooms which was fine by the hotelier but then a hotel guest was checked in at midnight... more

My husband booked the accommodation whilst working in the area. I also went as we intended to have some time looking at local attractions and the Merlyn was ideally placed for easy walking to the city centre. We were made to feel extremely welcome on arrival. Our twin room was beautiful with dark wooden panelling, rich red curtains, cushions and... more

I stayed at Merlyn based on recommendation and booked online. The tariff was fair and you could add 'extras' which is a good idea. The rooms were clean and well equiped. The breakfast was substantial and good value. The staff were friendly and helpful. Can't ask for anymore from a b&b. more

I emailed a booking for one night in this guest house as my husband and myself were helping settle our son into Coventry University. We arranged to leave all our belongings (of which were there many bags) at the guest house while we checked out the student accommodation during the booking process. We were advised that this would be no... more

I stayed here for a couple of nights - a friendly welcome and a room which, although small, had a comfortable bed, sink, tv, and was warm and very clean - pretty good for a room rate of £25, and the breakfast, for a supplement of £3, set me up for the day. If I return to Coventry, I would... more

Visiting Coventry for the first time on Wednesday I overnighted here. It was perfect for a budget hotel. Friendly and courteous owners, spotlessly clean house, comfy bed, TV, quiet night's sleep, wifi if you want it and a splendid breakfast to set you up for the day. All ten minutes easy walk into the city centre. Excellent. more

I never thought I would ever go to Coventry for a weekend break with the total sum of my knowledge being a bombed cathedral, Lady Godiva, and a 1987 FA cup winning team. But the lure of the Proclaimers musical, Sunshine on Leith, called us and we found the Merlyn guest house on line and splashed out for the king... more

Stayed 1 night whilst meeting up with friends for a night out in Coventry. Luckily found this budget conscious guest house with a room having en-suite jacuzzi. Very conveniently located just outside the ring road for easy walkable access to the city centre. Breakfast was as better than expected given the room rate we paid. All in all a very... more
