As per both reviews for last weekend, my husband booked this as a Valentines surprise - the suprise is no one there seems to be remotely concerned about guest satisfaction. We got the whole the previous owner did a runner story - not sure why this would have any bearing on blown lightbulbs, filthy hottubs and the general shoddiness of... More

We booked our Valentines weekend away at The Fish House, the menu online looked fantastic. When we arrived and went down for dinner the menu had nothing from the website menu! I was told they were short staffed... Anyway when I commented on this on paying my bill I was told that the website is from the old owners (more... More

Awful Rooms not clean, all need maintenance, not fit to stay in. Blood on sheets, wc broken had to visit 3 rooms to find one clean, however this till had broken light fittings and no bathroom heating? Hot tubs dirty and cold and water stagnant. Out of 4 couples staying we know of 4 that checked out after the first... More

We arrrived and were pretty much ignored. When shown to our room staff didnt know where the room was. The 'hottub' was more like an algae swamp! Menu limited and medioca All in all v dissappointing, tiny rooms, dirty showers More

The hotel itself was lovely, and the rooms more unique and 'boutique' than the norm. My partner booked this as a mini getaway for our anniversary, it was a friendly and trendy hotel, with staff who were, on the whole, ever ready and willing to help. There were a few glitches which hint at what others might have experienced (according... More

Stayed in the fish house this month as a treat and loved it!! The receptionist was very friendly and welcoming. The rooms were lovely and homely. Decorated gorgeously. Downside was that they hadn't had a delivery in so missed out on our bathrobes and slippers!! Hot tub was amazing! So relaxing and lovely lighting!! Restaurant was quite quiet at first... More

Had the Padstow room which was really comfortable and well appointed - the view out of the Velux window is fantastic! The bed extremely comfortable and the duvet, pillows and sheets really inviting! We both slept really well and had no idea what time it was when we woke up as the curtains & blinds blocked out the outside world... More

The first and last time I will go to this restaurant, the service was poor and slow, the food average and expensive and I was cold most of the evening. I loved this place in the old days when it was the White Horse very sad to see it end up like this. More

From the moment we walked in we should have realised how amateur the place was. We have just blown. Nearly £200 on an absolutely dreadful dinner for 4. The restaurant was freezing and we moved table but we were all really cold throughout dinner. The food was vile and my teenage children could have done better. I had heard that... More
