Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

After getting a bus from Keighley to the stop at the end of the road I was a bit weary and ready for check in! A friendly welcome and was impressed with the size of the room I was staying, just two other female guests. I went out into Haworth for some food at the Fleece. When I came back it had been invaded!!! At least 3 families with lots of children were in the lounge so no room there, and lots of noise.Unfortunately children sat at table outside my room so couldn't relax there!!Still unfortunately they were allowed to run up and down the stairs and around til past 11, eventually had to go out and speak to them,to no avail.I am all for children to enjoy themselves on holiday but when in a communal place consideration should be given!! The parents were enjoying their wine and beer downstairs, oblivious!Perhaps they should have booked the whole place!I see the hostel is now only available for group booking which is sad as a lovely building and good location for the solo traveller too.

I booked the whole site at YHA Haworth for a work retreat for 3 nights. It’s a stunning venue and suited our needs perfectly. As we’d booked the whole site, we had exclusive use of the building and all of its facilities. The meeting room, self-catering kitchen, and dining room were extremely useful and it was nice to have the lounge and games room available for colleagues to use during their free/personal time. There is some damp in some of the communal spaces, and the paintwork needs touching up, but it was clean and an absolutely beautiful old building with some great features. We enjoyed meeting the cats as well!

I am so glad that you enjoyed your stay and that the work retreat was a success. Between group bookings our team is in the process of giving the hostel some much needed TLC! I hope you have the opportunity to stay with us again for another work retreat in the future.

Surrounded by fine architecture and beautiful internal fittings, this old mill-owner's home is a great place to stay. There is plenty of space for families with a games room and a quieter lounge for those who prefer it. Peace and quiet is guaranteed as the house is surrounded by vast lawns and mature trees and is off the main road. It is a short walk in to the village of Haworth with its craft shops, restaurants and great bars. And if you are in to the Bronte family and their literature then this is the place for you to be.

We really enjoyed our stay in Haworth, which was decked out with spooky decorations for Halloween and provided the perfect atmosphere for a spooky weekend away. It was a walking distance from the village where we walked through the park and enjoyed a pub lunch. We also loved exploring the nearby moors and Hebden Bridge too. The staff were very friendly and accommodated us making Halloween crafts in the lounge. The children especially loved befriending the hostel's resident cats! I would love if the self-catering kitchen was a little roomier, but other than that we had a very comfortable and enjoyable stay.

Ok this was my first time in a hostel so maybe I'm being alittle harsh. Firstly the building and its amazing architecture wowed me. Its not difficult to imagine how it would have been as a home. The girl on reception was lovely and very welcoming. I have nothing but praise for the the staff. My bed was so uncomfortable that I barely slept and ended up leaving at 3.45am. The bathroom smelt so bad of stale urine that I hated to use it. The price was the main reason I stayed there. £29 for a four bed room is outstanding. However the bed and bathroom spoilt the stay for me.

Hello, thank you for your feedback. I apologise if the bathroom was unpleasant to use. We do try stick to a strict cleaning schedule. However, sometimes we can miss things. I am also sorry that the bed was not comfortable to use. We will look at the beds in the room you stayed in and see what we can do to make them more comfortable for future guests.

I loved the building as externally it’s a grand proposition but entering through the ornate entrance way revealed impressive wooden floors, a magnificent central wooden staircase and atrium, and stunning painted glass windows on the landing. We were amazed at all the town had to offer from pretty incredible food and great drinks to a steam railway, a tranquil park, ornate architecture and more. We only had a few nights there but could have stayed a week. The staff were another credit to the YHA and the members of our group that expected a sparse dormitory from the experience couldn’t believe the reality. A great trip and a hostel I’ll happily return to.

The stay at YHA Haworth marked my return to hosteling after a hiatus of fifty years and was an extremely pleasant reacquaintance for me and a fitting introduction for my daughter. Whilst catered food was not available in the evening there were a number of alternative options within a short walk of the hostel.
