I have stayed in this hotel on many occasions, choosing it mainly for the closeness to the A1 (not so close that it's noisy, though - the A1 was re- routed or something a while ago). I use it as a useful base for visiting around Yorkshire - eg 25 mins drive to York, 20 mins drive to Leeds. The... more

Stayed here on Saturday 28th November in a party of 12 ladies on a coach trip. The interconnecting rooms were lovely and as the bar area was small it meant we had somewhere to get together after our wonderful meal. Bathroom was gorgeous with huge towels and complimentary toiletries. A lovely time was had by all. more

A very good experience: Well run hotel, although nothing to look at/motel style directly adjacent to A1/A63. No trouble with road noise, (triple glazing) and ideal stop off point just off the A1(M). Fast check in, details all correct, quite room as requested, efficient and friendly staff Good room with excellent reconditioned bathrooms, heated floor, demisting mirrors and quality towels... more

I stayed at this hotel for one night whilst on business. Firstly be aware that its in the middle of nowhere, so you either need a car to get to it, or there is a train station about a 20 minute walk away with regular trains to Leeds, but there is not much to do in the evenings and no... more

Another hotel where air conditioning takes over and you cannot open the sealed window. Why do we have to rely on mechanical ventillation when a non-mechanical and more envirionmentally friendly solution is available in the form of a window that opens? Yet will still get the obligatory 'Imagine how many hotel towels are needlessly washed througout the world every day...'.... more

I use this hotel frequently. What makes it different is the quality and friendliness of the staff. They are excellent. Rooms are clean and bathrooms well fitted including underfloor heating. Food is well presented and excellent value. more

My wife and I stayed at the Best Western Milford Lodge for two nights in early May. We had prebooked a non-refundable rate of about 51 GBP double, an excellent bargain we found on the Best Western website. If you're booking ahead and are pretty sure you won't have to cancel, definitely look for this "Advanced Purchase Rate." The hotel... more

As others have reviewed, the Watermill Restaurant is very good. Well cooked, well presented and surprisingly imaginitive food is on offer at reasonable prices. The rooms and general standards of the hotel itself are also very good for the price although the breakfast was very ordinary. However we recently booked a retirement function at the hotel, I booked it via... more

I have no hesitation recommending this hotel. My husband and I had our wedding reception here and we were absolutely delighted with the service they gave us. The food is always fantastic (we have eaten here on several occassions), the staff are always friendly and helpful, the atmosphere is very welcoming and the rooms are clean, a good size, and... more

No overnight stay here, just an Easter sunday lunch. I used to drive by this place when it was clinging to the side of the A1. It looked the last place I would want to stop off at with it's Motel appearance and close proximity to such a busy road. My brothers father in law had booked it for a... more
