Unfortunately we read trip advisor too late and made a reservation to stay at what is probably one of the worst reviewed guest houses I have ever read. We made the reservation after agreeing a price of £35. This was supposed to include breakfast and a very kind offer of driving us the five miles to our destination. (Now I... more

I have recently stayed in this very dated motel. Places with character are fine however, this place needed some updating if just on the sheets alone. You had to work around the owners time table and always felt obliged to do so. Then at the end they charged me double what i should have paid and made complete excuses why... more

We were told that the double room would be £40 for the night but on the saturday morning after arriving late friday night we were told that that had been an out of date price given by the landladys husband by mistake. The room was actually £55 for the night. Although i had checked the price twice with the husband,... more

Six of us and two children stayed in this place for two nights. The decor was out of the sixties and unfortunately the place looked as if it hadn't been cleaned since the sixties. The landlady took the money for our rooms in advance before we had a chance to really complain about the state of the place. She also... more

Our double room was so small that a cat could not have got in there with us, cobwebs hanging allround the ceiling, dirty mirror splash marks on it from washbasin, dirty sheets with brown marks and hairs no proper pillows, no proper tea making facilities, kettle on floor, only offered toast & cereal for breakfast as it was Sunday and... more

This place is very dated and dirty. Our engineers were booked into two single rooms but were put into the tatty old caravan in the back garden which stank and had dirty, very old and damp towels. Breakfast consisted of toast which was only the two end crusts of a cheap loaf of bread. Compared with other accommodation in the... more

The rooms were dirty and ill-equipped, the bed sheets smelled like they had not been changed for months. The "breakfast" was infact toast and jam, not the standard you would expect from a bed and breakfast! The rooms were very dated and cold!! The bathroom that four of us had to share with strangers was cold and dirty and it... more

Having booked 3 seperate rooms months in advance, we didn't take the owner by surprise. On our arrival however, the bed linen was dirty, the bath towels were tatty and had seen better days, and two of our party who booked a double room were put in a single room with an extra bed squeezed into it & no room... more

I though I was going to sleep in a single room with tv and ensuite bath (that is what she/the owner said on the phone when I called) in a guest house with 3 dimonds from the English Tourist Council, but instead she gave me a single room (1 and half yard wide by 2 yards long) with dirty sheets,... more

An OK place to spend a night but I wouldn't want to stay longer. On the plus side the owners were very friendly, the bed was comfortable and the breakfast was excellent. However, the owner offered to provide soup and sandwiches on our arrival and lunchtime and then charged us £7.50 each which was very poor value for what we... more
