Looking for somewhere (on tripadvisor site) for relatives from abroad to stay for a few days, not too expensive. I am unable to accomodate them. I came across the Glengarth B & B which seemed to have reasonable reviews (apart from not accepting credit cards) from past clients. I then found on a website (a1tourism) for Glengarth Hotel that states... more

The Glengarth Hotel Leeds, takes its name from Glen (a valley, typically one that is long, deep, and often glacially U-shaped) and Garth (an enclosed yard or garden). Well, we didn't get the chance to see their garden but travellers, it is situated at the top of a valley. The gentleman that greated our party on arrival could not smile... more

I coincidentally had the pleasure of staying at the Glengarth on the 4th August (the same night as an existing reviewer) I was responsible for booking our stay in advance and found Mr Glengarth very helpful in providing useful information such as free parking. He quoted just £38 for an en suite bedroom, a bargain I was unable to refuse.... more

I stayed at the Glengarth on a Saturday night in August with some travelling companions. We had a very pleasant stay and enjoyed our time immensely. We were warmly welcomed on arrival and shown to our rooms. We had booked 4 single beds, but unfortunately the hotel was exceedingly popular that evening and had only 3 single beds and a... more

A more than satisfactory guest house: cheap; clean and accomodating staff. En-suite facilities are excellent and I made good use of the hairdryer. To address previous reviewers' concerns: The cash-only system employed needn't be a hassle as there is cashpoint not more than approximately 100 yards away. And regarding the sausage problem: they may well be cheap but they are... more

We stayed hee for 1 night only. The room was OK, albeit small. The problem was payment. They ONLY take cash, and not visa or any other card. Since we had not allowed for this it was embarrasing for us. Wouldnt stay here again. Just take a walk down the street. Don & Christine Rhodes melbourne Australia more

This is a budget hotel but honest value with cash payment prefered. Parking, if you are early enough ,outside off the street which in Leeds is a major plus. Near enough to the campus to be in the Union in 5 mins. Clean rooms, hard beds, powerful showers, breakfast 0730-0800 weekdays and 0830-0900 weekends no discussion on this point. Friendly helpful... more

I saw reviews on here for two other hotels on the same street, the Manxdene and the Moorlea, and thought I should mention a hotel by the university that really does deliver value for money. I originally booked into a single room without en-suite for £30 (breakfast is provided free). When I arrived, the manager told me that they'd decided... more
