just returned from a one nights stay at the woodlands hotel and loved every minute of it! set in beautiful grounds with ample parking, we were made to feel welcome as soon as we arrived. Reception were quite disorganised but friendly. Same in the bar. The room was large with a lovely big and comfy bed, great bathroom with 2 baths next to eachother was nice touch. Imagine is nice in summer to be able to open the french doors to outside but was too chilly when we went. The furnishings looked a little shabby... more

We live locally & have dined at Woodlands several times since the hotel was launched. After a shaky start (vegetables arriving with the pudding!) service has improved & the food is generally very good, with every effort being made to accomodate special diets. Spent last Sunday night at Woodlands as an anniversary treat. The hotel is beautiful but unfortunately the roar of the M62 soon starts to get on your nerves especially if the weather is nice enough to sit on the gorgeous terrace overlooking the garden at the front of the hotel. Stayed for one night on 12 April 2006. Front desk said they were a little quiet so got a complimentary upgrade. Room was great, very clean, modern and spacious with a fantastic bath and bathroom.
