The hotel promised us absolute comfort. I do not think in this day and age it is possible to have absolute comfort in a bed which is only 4' 6" wide and is meant for two people!!! We arrived at the hotel late at night because of traffic problems during the day - the receptionist was most unpleasant (maybe because of our late arrival). The room she put us in was tiny. We were disturbed by other guests playing loud music and had to be moved to another room. The room we were moved to was lovely but next to a laundrette or something that was clanking away. We had to be moved again. Finally at 2am we managed to find a quiet room and get some sleep. Breakfast the next morning was the same as breakfast anywhere, certainly nothing special. The hotel advertises that you get a complementary fruit basket in each room - three granny smith apples (is that really a fruit basket?). There was no mention that we would have to pay £10 extra for parking the car. The only thing that was boutique... more
