Stayed for one night mid-week. Checking in was quick and easy (as was checking out!) - very approachable, friendly and helpful staff both on the desk and in every area of the hotel. Very old, but well maintained and quintessentially English. I would not have been shocked to see the ghost of David Niven since the hotel exuded gentility and style. We stayed just for one night but were impressed with the relaxed but attentive service in the dining room. Excellent quality food as part of an evening buffet (wedding) and in the morning a breakfast to beat all breakfasts. Great room, but could do with brighter lighting, clean and comfortable.
