This hotel is in a delightful location and ideal for visiting Salisbury, with a beautiful 15 minute walk through the water meadows. It could be perfect but several things let it down. The room was smallish and unbearably hot. The window was open, but the noise from the water outside was very loud! They must have a HUGE electricity bill... more

We have stayed at this hotel twice previously, the last time being a couple years ago. Sadly, under current management they seem to have fallen apart with regard to day to day maintenance, service and courtesy, as well as staff training. We like that the hotel is gay friendly as we are a gay couple (they stated gay friendly in... more

What a delightful location, a beautiful setting with a lovely walk across the water meadows to town. Easter Sunday it may take you longer due to viewing at least three sets of ducks and ducklings and lots of lambs! The hotel is unique and you shouldn't expect straight floors and walls in a building of this age! Staff helpful and... more

We were once stuck in Munich with no hotel room for 20 miles and had to sleep in the car. After spending just one night at the Old Mill, I longed for the car again. If you have a problem with noisy guests, that's an easy fix. But what if the noise is from the owner and his staff? A... more

Just spent 2 nights in this excellent little hotel on the edge of Salisbury. It's a beautiful setting - next to a pond with views across the water meadow to Salisbury - and a fascinating old building, some parts go back to the 12th Century. The staff are friendly and helpful, the rooms comfortable (un-even floors) and the food excellent.... more

We spent a very lovely 3 days at Old Mill earlier this month, and we would recommend this place without hesitation to anyone looking for good food, friendly and helpful staff, contact with history, and a fabulous location with great Constable-like views. Warning: this hotel is not a Hilton. Ceilings are low (they were shorter in the 16th century), stairs... more

We're just wrapping up our 3/days 3/nights at the Old Mill Hotel. The building, a former mill, is several hundred years old -- the rooms have private toilets...flat-screen TVs, and free wifi (keyboard provided, if you don't have a laptop). We were looking for a B&B, when we saw a sign for the hotel along the road. The rooms are... more

We stayed on a Friday and Saturday night. Cant fault the location and the young barman who doubled as hotel receptionist was very friendly and showed us to our room.FIrst impression of room (Standard double, top floor, facing pond, number 8) was good, but closer inspection revealled lots of dust on the lights, phone, mirrors, wardrobe etc, and the bath... more

My family and I enjoyed three nights at the Old Mill. From the moment we arrived, we were given impeccable service. The people here are very friendly and helpful in every way. Simon, one of the devoted staff, even drove me in his own car to an event I was in town for. The rooms are clean and cozy. Food... more

The Old Mill is a lovely old place with great views across the marsh meadows toward the cathedral. You can see where various masters got their inspiration from. This was the first time that I have stayed at the Old Mill and I have to say that my boyfriend and I really enjoyed it. The Old Mill is noisey at... more
