Staff all very helpful and choice of food very good, they set themselves a high standard whilst I was there. I think after reading other reviews our room was not one of the better ones but I have stayed in much worse. Their own ale is very good, their steaks good and breakfast was refreshingly different.

Firstly I must say that they have got it spot on at The Lazy Cow, stayed here on route to Devon and we were very impressed. The room was spacious with a large double bed, lovely bathroom and a nice selection of teas. The food was fantastic I recomend the Argentinean steak and the ribs, the puddings are just right... More

We stayed here for 1 night as part of our 4 day trip. The greeting from reception was friendly and welcoming, the room was lovely, very clean, perhaps a little poorly lit - this seems the case in most hotels these days! but the decor was wonderfull, a huge fireplace, lots of modern twists that contrasted well with the classic... Stayed overnight when attending a function at the restaurant. The good: easy to find, good position on the edge of the town centre no car parking, but car parking available at the Whyte Hart hotel just a minutes walk away plush, well equipped room good quality food in the restaurant staff friendly and accommodating The bad: few maintenance issues with... Stunning place to stay, centre of town, and Salisbury is a surprise with a nightlife and interesting buildings and shops by day. Great to cycle to Stonehenge, see the cathedral and wander. Great breakfast (small but quality), staff manage attentiveness without intrustion. Rooms (ours) was amazing - totally styled but restrained. Great inclusion of a coffee pod machine, fantastic bathroom,... More

Attracted by the look we went in for lunch expecting your typical English Pub. Inside didn't disappoint, great character, nice ambiance and friendly staff. With table service provided our drinks arrived promptly and our meal order was taken. Then we waited, and waited. In all two courses took nearly two hours. The food was excellent, one of the best steaks... More

Stopped for two nights at this hotel. On arrival was shown to our room bar the batman, after a quick refresh decided to have a drink in the bar before venturing out. The bar was empty with the barren standing outside the front door talking to someone and smoking a cigarette, the barman saw us stood at the bar but... More

We were bit unsure wether to eat here due to some bad reviews but we thought the opposite. Food was excellent steak was the best steak I've eaten in a long time. Bit pricey but you get what you pay for I guess. Great character inside especially with the cow leather chairs and decor.
