I hate to be the only one who gives a negative review. We did not even stay there because of a mix-up in booking . I booked a reservation for June 16, 2011 on May 22., and my credit card was charged for the fee of 70 pouds sterling It was a few days later that I realized that I... More

We sincerely regret that this customer is unhappy with his experience in booking a room at Sarum College. As the other reviews indicate, this is quite an unusual situation for us! We have a different view of the events recounted in this review, have been in email contact with this customer and are completely committed to continuing to correspond directly... More

We booked a room here for a quick stop on our way elsewhere in England. Now we wished we'd stayed longer than 2 days. Although these are basically dorm rooms, they are well appointed and all the basics are there (big towels, good shower water pressure, in-room tea making tray, large desk) - there's even an elevator, which is not... I stayed at Sarum College for 4 nights. I'd chosen the standard-type room option - it worked out great - there were several available bathrooms on my floor, and a separate shower room with private showers. The building had an elevator, and was nicely heated on chilly nights. My room had a sink, a comfy easy chair, a good-sized desk,... More

Sarum College is a conference center on the cathedral close in Salisbury. Our room looked out at the cathedral. The rooms are spartan but comfortable, though the plumbing system is a bit noisy and you can't open the windows because pigeons might fly in! Though on the top floor, our room was reachable by elevator. The breakfast was very good... More

Thank you for your review! We're delighted that you enjoyed your stay in Sarum College. Just wanted to note for others who may be considering a visit to Sarum College that our guests are very welcome to borrow a Close gate key if they wish to be outside the Cathedral Close after 10.30pm. But as you've said, it's a lovely... More

This place is like heaven for those of us who thrive on dorm life. Good breakfast. Large quiet room. The location cannot be beat. More

I walked the 5-10 mins from the train station and was greeted by name at the door with a helpful/efficient check-in. As the name suggests this is more of a college than a hotel but I was expecting this. The college appears to cater for religious studies principally older people so the place was pretty quiet which made for a... More

My husband and I were only planning an overnight stay in Salisbury and chose Sarum College for it's location and the uniqueness of it. During the night, the "big snow" came, and we were unable to make it to Wales the next day as originally planned. Linda, who had received us at the College the night before, could not have... More

We had come to visit the Cathedral and were delighted to be able to stay within the Cathedral Close. We had one of the Baker Suites (and last minute upgrade) and were amazed at the size (for Europe) of the sitting room, and the bathroom. While the atmosphere is a little dorm-like, that's exactly what this is: a dorm of... More

Set in arguably the most beautiful location imaginable, directly opposite Salisbury Cathedral, Sarum College has wonderfully friendly and welcoming staff. Nothing was too much trouble. Historic building dating from the mid 1600s but gently modernised where it needs it. Rooms simple and comfortable, meant for quiet prayer and.or relaxation but with a good WiFi connection. Food wonderful and kitchen staff... More

This has been, by far, the BEST hotel I've stayed at in my whole life! The rooms were spacious (for Europe), clean, and super comfortable. More important than that was the staff! Very receptive to their guests' needs and willing to meet such needs. The friendliest people ever - they ( specially Linda and Richard) were genuinly nice, dedicated, and... More
