I stayed here on a spa package with my mum. Location of the hotel was great and although the look is slightly dated, it has certain charm. Our room was on the second floor, which was a little struggle as my mother is not the youngest anymore. But the staff carried our bags up and back down again on leaving,... more

My partner and I decided to escape London for the weekend and chose to visit Windsor for its historical charm and short train journey from Paddington! We spent the first night at The Harte and Garter Hotel which was splendid. Unfortunately, they did not have any vacancies for the next night so thought we would try the Sir Christopher Wren.... more

Clearly this hotel hasn't been redocrated since Christopher Wren died. Stayed last Saturday 18th April. Stayed in Room 31 in an "Executive" Double Room. Walked in and greeted by an overwhlming stench. Decor was probably attempting the Olde world look but just about scraped the squallor look, Carpet was old and dirty. Roof had leek and water marks all over... more

We stayed at the hotel for business and then returned one week later for a single night. I had my family travelling with me and paid ~$400/night Cdn for a suite/room. Was very disappointed to find small beetles in the bathroom (tub and bathroom floor). While they moved us to another room they were not willing to compensate in any... more

My husband and I really wanted to stay in one of the hotels next to the castle but the price different was amazing, so we chose this hotel next to the river. When we got there we realised that the castle is only a stones throw away anyway and from the entrance of the hotel you can see the Castle... more

Great hotel in a perfect position on the river. Windsor is a beautiful town, and the hotel is located in the quieter part of the town, on the bridge over to Eton. Our hotel room was fabulous, witha patio door out to a small balcony overlooking the river. Room was modern, light and spacious, and bathroom had molton brown toiletries and... more

The hotel is an old house that has been converted so it is an expereince to find your room. We were in room 26 which was on the top floor and required us to negotiate almost 60 steps - so a little bit of a chore with luggage. The room was small with a bed that was more like a... more

We recently stayed here for one night over a weekend. It is an old building with plenty of charm and you have to take this into consideration when reviewing it. We arrived early and the staff were very accomodating, a room was ready for us and although the car park (pre-bookable for £10 a night) was still officially full from... more

If you are looking for an old hotel experience, this is it. Plus if you are looking for a hotel in a convenient location in Windsor, this is it. A typical English-style hotel, but with a restaurant. The hotel also has spa and massage services, so it caters for those who are looking to chill out and rejuvenate. Did I... more
