This trip was intended as a post A level treat for my daughter. I booked a 'superior' twin room so that although we were sharing a room, we could have a bit of space from each other, but sadly this was not to be the case. The so-called 'superior' room was really rather small and looking at the photos which... more

My wife and I stayed the weekend 17th, 18th July. Apart from the false greeting when we arrived late after travelling through torrential rain from Cambridge we found everything ok. We were on the 'Body and Soul' package which turned out to be good value. The location was great with marvellous views of the hills and the little town of... more

This well located hotel is comfortable and clean enough but a little worn. Our ‘superior’ room lacked a few touches that I would have expected e.g. bottled water, fridge, etc. The table d’hôte dinner was unimaginative and poor quality - I would not have expected to be served roast pork without apple sauce in an English hotel! However the hot... more

I recently attended a wedding at the Abbey with my elderly aunt who is in a wheel chair. I have to say the facilities for people with wheel chairs was no existant. We had to climb 10 floors ,using stairs ,with my aunt, you can imagine how tired we were when we got to the top. Also the service at... more

This is a relatively large hotel with 103 rooms in a relatively small country town. Therefore it seems to cater for coach parties and conference business, not that there is anything wrong with either of those. I was allocated a double room for single use at a very fair price when booking to attend my company's annual conference. To be... more

Just got back from 2 nights at The Abbey with the body & sole package. We had a great time and must say it was a bargain. It's a lovely hotel, obviously very old and it does show in places but thats what gives it a wonderful character. Our room was superb, clean, large, very comfortable & with a great... more

The entrance looks most impressive wiith Virginia creeper all over, giving a Gothic air, right next to a Medieval priory floodlit at night. We arrived early, but were given a friendly welcome and the security pass to our room on the 1st floor There is a lift, but you may also encounter a few stairs, just 8or 9 if you are in the rooms further away.Absolutely... more

We stayed at the Abbey on a tour of the Cotswolds. Our room was large and clean with flat screen TV and a good selection of channels if you wanted them, and the bathroom had a good poweful shower and was very clean. The dinner menu was good if a little repetative. The only thing we were disappointed in was... more

After reading some of the reviews on here, I wasn't expecting such a lovely stay at the Abbey. Room was very large and clean - we paid £10 extra when booking for a superior room and it was worth it. Massive bathroom, flat screen TV, 2 armchairs, comfy bed - just what you want for a night's stay. Convenient location... more
