My room was cold. Bedding took on the smell of the old mattress, had to shower in the morning, as I always do, but mainly to get rid the smell. THE DOOR WHICH LEAD INTO THE BATHROOM DIDN'T FIT the door casing and would not shut, OK if you aren't shy when having a SHOWER I suppose. Basic and cheap.... More

We stopped here for 12 night on the 21st April. We were made very welcome by the owner, as were on our Motorcycle . Lovely clean room with a great view , and even saw a steam train passing !. Cosy bar & great choice of meals from 6 pm.Very friendly staff & locals use the bar too - so nice... More

We stayed 1 and 2nd March it was a litle cold the first night downstairs but made up for that by our food the first evening (there was 5 staying and 3 friends visited) breakfast was vey good the rooms were clean and tidy somethings were dated but after all it was inexpensive compared to multi national chains and it... Functional room, very clean and warm with a nice clean bathroom. Comfortable but a bit dated and tatty round the edges. Breakfast was good. However I am marking it down because I was not made to feel welcome. The staff I met were perfectly polite but as a single traveller it is important to me to be given a little... More

Good clean room, advertised WiFi didn't work in the room - I asked and was told that it only works in some rooms, but that it was temperamental and not working the night that I stayed. Comfortable bed, good breakfast, reasonable price. Functional rather than exceptional.

Not the best 'hotel' for what they charge. A little dissapointed when we were first greeted and at check in. However, the cleanliness of the room was good! top marks for that! However, the decor could do with a little updating. You don't really get what you pay for. Rather stay in cheaper travelodge.

This hotel is simply brilliant. The rooms could do with a little bit of improvements, but thats about all I can fault. The food in the restaurant is homemade and delicious, and very very filling... I had a wonderful porridge for breakfast. The location is very pretty and plenty to see and do nearby. I will definitely be back with... More

We stayed two nights, the room was clean and acceptable at the price paid, and the breakfasts freshly made for us. The first night we had dinner, and both our meals were awful I had what was claimed to be calves liver on bubble and squeak. The liver was overcooked and the bubble and squeak tasteless. The meal was served... More

When we arrived a key was thrust at us as if we were a nuisance, not a paying customer. The advertising for the hotel (on website and the hotel's BMWX5) promises free wifi in all rooms, but there was none in the room we were sent to, so we asked for another. Big mistake! This room was immediately over the... More

Although the room was a little dated, this hotel was one of the cleanest places I have stayed. The rooms were well equipped, with free wi-fi, TV with plenty of channels, toiletries and tea and coffee making facilities. Breakfast was freshly cooked, with a great choice and very friendly service. The price was excellent and this made it, overall, an excellent... More
