I'd heard bad things about this place but essentially had no choice due to the lack of other options in Bangor. The good news was that it wasn't as bad as I feared. The bar area is in desparate need of renovation, as is the rest of the hotel. The decor is embarrassingly dated. However, the staff seemed OK and... more

What an abysmal and nightmarish 3 days. I was in the unrenovated annex building, top floor. Christ, what a technicolour pile of sick the room was, hadn't been decorated in at least 25 years. The toilet hadn't been cleaned, the bed squeaked every time you moved, the cabinets where chipped MFI 70's jobs with bits missing, the pillows flat as... more

We have stayed here a few times before, 1st time was great, so rebooked this time our booking was lost. 2nd time we were supposed to be staying in a family room but this had been given to someone else so we were split up into 2 rooms. Giving them the benefit of the doubt we decided to try again... more

Good hotel. Excellent location right on Bangor Pier with views overlooking the Menai Straits. Reception and bar could do with updating but bedroom was very modern and clean. Large with big bathroom with good power shower. Small car park but small paid for car park (£1.00) just in front. Good choice of breakfast but quite average quality. more

We stayed at the Eryl Mor for one night. First impressions were great: the location, overlooking the pier and Menai Straights to Anglesey and Great Orme, is fantastic and the staff were welcoming and very helpful. The food is pretty good, and the conservatory and bar out the front are wonderful in good weather, which we had. However, then we... more

Stayed for one night - visiting the University for the Open Day. We stayed in 2 rooms, both family type. Large en-suite room with double and single bed, recently refurbished, very clean and bed comfortable. Lovely bathroom - wonderfull, large shower enclosure. Evening meal was superb and good value and the breakfast was enjoyable. Lots of choice on the menus.... more

So far I have fell of the broken toilet seat twice ( you would think I would learn from the first time!) locked myself both in and out of my room (seperate occasions of course) and can fit my finger in the hole in the 'double glazed' window seal. If I can work out how I will update pictures of... more

The photo of the hotel on their website is very misleading - it looks as if the hotel is set in beautiful gardens, not so, they are public gardens. I arrived for a two day business trip, was amazed at the place, it was not clean, stuck in a 1970's time warp and could have done with a lick of... more

Stayed at the Eryl Mor for 1 night whilst in Bangor for business. First of all turned up and there were no parking spaces so I had to drive to a carpark at the pier and pay for parking. Only £1 but was annoyed that I had to walk back up the steep bank with my laptop and overnight bag... more

I stayed at the Eryl Mor last weekend with a group of friends. We had a fantastic stay. The hotel is in a beautiful location overlooking Bangor pier and the Menai Strait. The rooms were lovely and the staff were really friendly and helpful. Top Marks! more
